Mike's Mailbox: Which Syracuse legend does Orange freshman Kiyan Anthony compare to?

The answer is Moten... 100%

144% THIS.

I’ve been saying this since he was in HS.

He’s not an explosive athlete, but smooth and controlled, has a deep bag of offensive moves, solid midrange game, and knows his spots and can get to them seemingly at will.

I think he's both taller and slightly more athletic than Moten. But I think Moten is a great comp because of the smooth movements and always being in the right spot. I have been really impressed with Anthony so far.

One big difference is that Moten was a low volume and relatively underwhelming three point shooter (not saying that as an insult, you could say the same thing about Michael Jordan). Whereas Kiyan appears to be able to really light it up from deep. Obviously part of that is the evolution of the game over 30 years.
