Coyle helps us out.hopefully the chatter ratchets up now w regard to Dutcher taking over at Minn - and becomes a real distraction this week!
Now Coyle can wait 5 days to hire SD State's Dutcher and it doesn't look like a deal was in place earlier.Coyle helps us out.
His players know he's gone. Now Coyle can wait 5 days to hire SD State's Dutcher and it doesn't look like a deal was in place earlier.
??? Dutcher grew up in Minnesota, graduated from Minnesota, his dad was one of the best coaches in MN history and his contract buyout is $7.5 million but a clause lowers it to $1 million if he takes only the Minnesota job so YES Dutcher obviously does gives a sh** about Minnesota!my question is does Dutcher give a sh** about Minnesota?
Sorry it was a lame joke on my part. I was referencing when Roy Williams was asked after the loss to SU in 2003 about the North Carolina job and said he didn’t give a sh** about North Carolina at that moment. I am hoping this becomes a distraction to Dutcher and his team like it was to Roy and team in 2003??? Minnesota is a mid B1G job. Obviously Indiana is a much better job now but Minnesota has produced Jalen Suggs, Tyus and Tre Jones, and Matthew Hurt in the past few years but all choose to leave MN but the talent in-state is getting much better. Chet Holmgren the current #1 overall recruit is in MN.
You mean mini-Pitino, right? Dutcher is really solid.I hope this ends the chatter from a segment of our fanbase suggesting this underqualified option as a candidate in our eventual search.
I get that it's the big ten but you would have to be crazy to leave San Diego for Minnesota.my question is does Dutcher give a sh** about Minnesota?

Besides the hometown reasons I listed earlier, don't forget that San Diego doesn't have four seasons.I get that it's the big ten but you would have to be crazy to leave San Diego for Minnesota.
interesting the local "journal of record" here in MN (Star Tribune) is holding off reporting anything
yep. I follow Reusse on twitter and he was making it sound for weeks like it was a done deal - he also seems to think they're going hard after Dutcher - he's not well liked by the local coaches/players but Patrick is as plugged in as anyone 'round here...I'm guessing that the Pitino / New Mexico rumors had a lot to do with it.
Sounds like Dick Jr. saw the writing on the wall, and was staying one step ahead of the lynch mob. Minnesota caught wind, and didn't hesitate to drop the inevitable hammer.
I'm not. He made a bundle for having a fabulously successful BB coach father. I'm always scronful of these schools that hire the unproven offspring of successful coaches.I do feel bad for this Pitino. He always seemed like a good and decent guy. A trait I'm sure that came maternally.

He has a pretty good run at Minnesota. You sound like you've had personal experience that's made you bitter.I'm not. He made a bundle for having a fabulously successful BB coach father. I'm always scronful of these schools that hire the unproven offspring of successful coaches.
