That's your best lineup, at least right now. And Starling is in there essentially by default, I'm def having my doubts about him. I dunno man, I think we really need an effective, non-headcase Benny and/or Chance - or, well... ugh

I got Judah, JJ, Copeland, and Justin drawing doubles. Center in the low post offensively a toss up. Possibly Benny stretch five.

This team is flawed. Benny feels incredibly unlikely, imo, to fix that. The thing that I think is the most positive sign, however, is we have some athleticism and if we can get healthy, figure out a solid role for McLeod and tweak that man defense some, we could be solid. This won't be a top 25 team, IMO, nor a top 6 ACC team if I had to guess. But I do think there's something here if we can keep getting better and finding the right roles for some of the solid talent we have.

If that is the best line-up, and they are going to play like that, we are screwed. Judah was selfish and horrendous.

I was telling myself I might prefer Cuffe to Starling if this is the shooting we are going to get.

Last nights matchup was hard for McCloud. He needs to play at least twenty minutes a game. We are tiny without him and we need a rim protector. Brown is way too small and puts no fear into anyone coming in the lane. Carey is effective and could become a good player. Lacks strength, but so does Brown. Judah and JJ have to distribute more and create shots for Cuffe, Taylor and Bell. They should be taking 95% of the threes and no one else. I’m not convinced that JJ will not be ok from the three point line. He still hasn’t had a clean look from three off the catch. Copeland will drive me crazy if he ever takes another three. Nothing looks good when he shoots it. Someone please show him how to guard people in the post. He’s the worst I’ve ever seen. Girard is a close second. This team is not in shape. With all the guys that are playing there defensive intensity should not drop so dramatically after the first ten minutes of play.

Did you mean the double negative ? Not being snarky , really am not sure what you mean

With limited perimeter options the offense will struggle all
season, but I at least thought there was enough athleticism
to play effective defense. Maybe not Virginia level, but better
than we've seen so far. It just comes down to effort and confidence
in the other four on the court.

For a couple short stints the ubiquitous 1,2,3,4,5 roster played together and did ok. This is the 0,1,2,3,5. I think Cuffe has more upside than Bell, but I'm not as much down on Bell as a lot of people are. Plus I think Copeland can't sit.

Incredible. One game. One single flipping game.
Good thing none of you are Kevin Loughery, who was MJ's first NBA HC
Jordan was 5-for-16 from the field in his first NBA game.

The dumbing down/pessimism from a certain segment of this board is remarkable. Anything and everything is an damn indictment. How about we all try to enjoy and appreciate a younger/newer team try to grow into itself. I am telling you, it can be fun/enjoyable to watch that happen.

And hey, maybe it won't, ... but damn, it was one game. One game(!!).

No, I am counting the 2 exhibition games into my opinion coupled with a few other things.

Okay, now that's an informed/large sample size take I am good with.
"Few other things" is also completely valid if you ask me.

Why waste time? Let's hope Coach Red is already scheduling "the talk" with J.J.

Nobody on this team warrants a double team at this point.

Dino Babers is the reason we have no patience right now. Maybe that’s unfair to Red but them’s the breaks.

Suffice to say its not a well oiled machine but there are a lot of great parts. I agree with Devo, I liked the Judah, JJ and Cuffe pairing. We have 3 Swing men along with Maliq and Naheem right now but add Benny and Westry to that mix and I see good things come March. Lots of patience will be necessary for this team. Once Judah and JJ start hitting even mid range jumpers this team changes. And once Judah and JJ start to look to kick also and not just finish, that's when this team becomes scary.

Breathe. There are things to work out, there always are. I saw things that were alarming and things that gave me a lot of hope.

Excited to see them get better.
