That’s tough for Arnett. He was coming in to be DC for Mike Leach. Never expected to be put in the position of HC like he did. His first head job following Leach at a big school. Nowhere to go but down.

Not to mention they gave him one freaking year. That’s absurd.

Hopefully for him it's a Luke Fickell-type situation. Fickell was completely in over his head when he coached Ohio State that one sandwich year between Tressel and Urban. But he was still young and eventually got his feet under him, and since then he's had a lot of success.

Not a fan of him as a person since he isn't a man of his word but he stepped into a buzzsaw. The second Leach passed away you knew they'd be routed in every SECW game this year.

Don’t be surprised if Dan Mullen is hired at Mississippi State. Coach of the Year in his previous stint.

I agree. I would hope he'd get an interview. His offensive system indoors would be something.
