Was there a per year option limit prior? This seems like a big deal.

Until players are on spring training fields, I will remain skeptical and angry. When do they “ratify” this and start transacting ? I mean this isn’t the Constitutional Convention
It's been 30 minutes and I've yet to hear that the Yankees have signed a free agent.
Also, the mlb site appears to be down.
They do that for weather.I hope they got rid of the worst thing in baseball. Where most teams would have opening day and then not play the day after.
This season is actually the end of real baseball. The way it was played for more than a century. Gone is much of the strategy and decision making.National League welcome to real baseball with no more automatic outs from the pitchers batting a collective under .100 anymore.
Yep, hate it.This season is actually the end of real baseball. The way it was played for more than a century. Gone is much of the strategy and decision making.
The dumbing down of America continues.
But hey, fat old players can play a few years longer, the games will last even longer and .27 more runs will be scored a game, so we can all be happy about that.
Universal DH is better for the game. This season is actually the end of real baseball. The way it was played for more than a century. Gone is much of the strategy and decision making.

I am glad you are happy about it.Universal DH is better for the game.
NL teams can resign their guys if they are afraid of their defense slipping.
Pitchers can’t hit. Plus the fact the WS waa played under 2 sets of rules was dumb.
It’s like if the Western conference in the NBA had a 4point line and the Eastern conference didn’t and then games were played by different rules.
Universal DH is good for baseball.
So you want a pitcher pulled from a game down by a run as his lineup has sucked and not due to his performance because he can’t hit.I am glad you are happy about it.
People like baseball for different reasons.
Some are really into strategy and managerial decisions. A big part of that is gone now. If you don't understand or care, no worries. I know that part of the game is not something everyone enjoys.
I am happy baseball is back. Even in a marginalized form.
No, that is not at all what I said.So you want a pitcher pulled from a game down by a run as his lineup has sucked and not due to his performance because he can’t hit.
Yeah i think that kinda dumb.
Let pitchers pitch and hitters hit.
Let performance or pitch count merit pulling a pitcher not that his spot in the lineup is coming up.
It’s better for baseball.
The strategy you speak of is what then? No, that is not at all what I said.
Enjoy the DH. I am happy you are happy.
I believe the players just gave owners the power to make a rule. Also, whatever it ends up being won’t take effect until 2023, I think.Does anyone know the actual rules on shifting if they have changed? Is it that you have to have a certain number of players on each side of second base?, looking for the specifics. Could a team bring in an outfielder to have 5 infielders if they want to still ?
