Another report says if the dispute is settled this afternoon, free agency will start tonight. Spring training could start as soon as this weekend.

That's crazy, players would have zero off days and get burnt out. Baseball barely has any off days anyway. They should simply focus on the deal and starting the seasons. If the owners wanted to win some goodwill with the players, they can pay them full salary even if some games are cancelled.

They are discussing extending the regular season and scheduling double headers. It is feasible.

And the doubleheaders are expected to be 9 inning games.
