Moe Neal has improved over his time at Syracuse more than any running back I've seen here. And I've seen a lot. I think he now has the skill set to make an NFL roster.

Seems like just yesterday I was at a high school football game near Charlotte, NC and walked past a guy decked out in Cuse gear. This was right after we beat somebody in hoops in a early season tourney with Tyler Lydon playing great, and I assumed he was a Cuse hoops fan that was fired up about that so I brought up the hoops game. He didn’t know much about the hoop game, but told me his kid was going to Cuse next year for football, and was surprised when I said “Moe Neal?”. Really nice guy, so not surprising that Moe is said to be a great kid.

I remember Neal breaking a 50 yard TD run against Colgate in his first game. What a rock solid player he became the last two years.

Didn’t listen to the presser yet, but that’s awesome! He seemed like a great guy. We talked for a few minutes. He said something like “maybe I’ll see you in the Dome at a game!”

I also remember him saying something about how they still needed to talk to the new coach as this was right after Shafer was fired, but he seemed to be all in on Cuse as long as the new coach wanted Moe. Glad that all worked out for everybody.

My buddy and I met Moe’s uncle at the bowl game last year. He was decked out in a Neal jersey and we introduced ourselves. Great family. Awesome young man. Glad to see he went out on a high note.

Saw a bunch of his family at the NC State game this year wearing Neal jerseys. Went over to one of them and asked if he was related to Moe and it turns out he was his Grandfather. Told him what a great player and person Moe seemed, for which he was thankful. Every game I watched after that, my son would proudly point out to my wife after a Moe Neal play- "we met his Grandfather at the game".

Neal is a player that may not be the greatest ever stat wise but is a true icon of the years and i am proud to have him wear orange. I hope he comes around and stays connected to the program
