Sunday Rewind — Syracuse FB Adam Harris

A round-by-round look at the unsigned picks reflects the Saints' lack of action on rookie signings. The only unsigned players in the fourth, sixth and seventh rounds all are Saints' draft choices Nick Toon (fourth round, No. 122 overall), Andrew Tiller (sixth round, No. 179 overall) and Marcel Jones (seventh round, No. 234 overall). Saints cornerback Corey White (No. 162 overall) is joined by Oakland Raiders wide receiver Juron Criner as the two unsigned draft choices from the fifth round.

Here's how the Footballnation evaluates the Saints' draft with the round picked, the selection on that round, and the over-all pick and the grade:

6.9, 179 Andrew Tiller C To be effective in the NFl he must continue to develop his skills, including having quicker movement after the snap

That Sunday Rewind story on Adam Harris was a good one. Mark Frank did a great job chronicling Harris' time at Syracuse. What a tremendous loss it was for the program to not have Adam return for his senior year of eligibility.

Good luck to him in all his future endevours. I am sure he will be a success at whatever he decides to do with his life.

From The Juice article on last season:
"Ryan Nassib, who completed 66 percent of his passes in the first seven games, saw his completion percentage drop down to 58 percent the rest of the way."
An 8% drop translates to 2 fewer completions per game in 25 attempts. Considering the injuries to our WRs, and the stiffer competition we faced down the stretch, that isn't surprising, and IMO it isn't a major factor contributing to the team's late-season slide.

also could be related to throwing more in situations when trailing and less when they wanted too.. having to throw the last 10 plays of a game can cause some bad stats.

Good point.
IMO, a major factor in the 5-game slide was that out defense gave up an average of 31 points/game over this stretch. Of course, you can turn this around and point out that over the same wretched stretch, the offense was averaging an anemic 16 pts/game. A lot of the problems with the defense stemmed from consistently being faced with poor field position resulting from TOs and poor special teams play.

A loss, like a win, is usually a coordinated team effort.

Nice. Congrats!

For those that did not know, the Rams, Lions, Seahawks have visited, watched him run, sat with him and watched hours of film and Winnipeg of the CFL is also very interested. Just need to stay healthy... he measured 5'11" and 205 lbs.

I hope everyone is having a GREAT summer and will still miss the Orange !

i see ru got a couple of mediocre recruits---however they cited the apr as a reason.su really needs to address the continuing issue of academic ratings downturn. new i say this not due to ru per se,but the steady drop from high 40,s to mid 60's in us news in recent decade is totally w/o reason ---we are rapidly becoming a academic also ran.

you do realize that apr and academic ranking are completely unrelated, right?

yes as a matter of fact i do.you do realize that our academic ranking has dropped almost by 20 since the 90's. you do realize that the all the press and focus is on apr,and most recruits do not know the difference. a progression in apr translates to forward progress . can you meaningfully explain the dramatic decrease in su rankings?please do not reference the aau or "revised " admission policies.

nope - can't explain them - just couldn't figure out the jump from kids committing to Rutgers and citing the APR to the angle on SU's academic rankings, that's all
