Monroe Madness Day

If I recall, Taylor got off to good start then might have missed his last 3 shots
I think Carey might be ahead of Hima in the pecking order
Anything more on Hima? So we’re thinking Carey is going to backup Jesse?

Hope Hima can be brought along enough to serve as a true 5 size wise for the 5-10 minutes we need him. If we do play some mtm not as big of a deal if Brown or Carey can defend against a smaller big

Thanks. The offensive, defensive, and rebounding production out of the 4 is one of the biggest question marks/preseason stories for this year's team.
I hope that between Benny, Malik and Carey, we have some answers at the 4.
Same with the 3 between Taylor, Bunch and Copeland. But who knows. At least we have some options and some real length and athleticism.

Interesting. I’d think that actually means a little
Agreed. I thought for sure Hima was the clear backup, but we've been hearing good things about Carey being more than just a high upside long-term project. If Carey does take the backup spot, I hope it's because he's surpassed expectations and not because Hima isn't capable. Probably a mixture of Carey being further along than expected and Hima not understanding exactly what's expected of him on defense.

I really hope Hima figures it out though because we'll need him when playing against big fellas. Teams with good bigs will hammer us when Jesse's on the bench. We'll probably see Brown play center against teams with smaller bigs, but hopefully we're not relying on him against the real big dominate guys.

Or Hima being farther behind than the coaches thought. Well, I’m fine with throwing Carey into the fire. Stand tall and use up his fouls. Hima can spell him if need be.

The thing is that everyone wants JAB to expand his bench but hopefully he's not doing it with a short leash. All six of those guys need to play through their mistakes.

I just hope if one guy is not playing well, that we don't see him for 35 minutes, but we play somebody off the bench and give them an equal chance. Only a couple of these guys have proven ANYTHING. Let them all play and sort it out.

He is going to end up being better than Clingan.

Maybe this season
Clingan has looked like a stud early on for UConn. I actually think he was underrated coming out of high school because he played in a crappy CT league. He's a legit 7'2 and can also shoot it. If Peter gives half his production I'll be happy.
