Ya know...Greg is one of those very overlooked players in SU history.About time we finally did something to honor the legendary Greg Monroe!
It’s great hearing that Copeland played good defense. That was one of the worries with him because he seemed uninterested playing defense in high school.
Yeah. He was working hard! Judah looked only slightly interested. It’s great hearing that Copeland played good defense. That was one of the worries with him because he seemed uninterested playing defense in high school.
I posted a year ago that he has possibly the most upside of the frosh. 66 with his handle and vision cant be taught.Yeah that part of the feedback from this scrimmage is huge. Kid seems maybe he showed up with a massive chip and something to prove. Which we should always expect from a Philly kid.
If Judah is really good and actually ready, and we don’t go with a 3 guard lineup…..I’d cap Joe around 28….IMO.Joe's 34 min a game carrying over would be a win. That's still plenty of minutes but also some reprieve as well. I expect it will be more like 37 but 34 to me is the sweet spot.

I remember Greg hitting a jumper as a freshman to beat St.John's at Alumni Hall. It was in overtime and Pearl held the ball for I think the last last two or three minutes. He was a very good player.Ya know...Greg is one of those very overlooked players in SU history.
I labeled him a future pro just on athletic ability and his aggressiveness.Yeah Carey is no stiff

Intensity is not like a faucet most people can just turn off and on. Some few can. Practice how you play. Effort is a learned and reinforced behavior. Sorry to hear this.Yeah. He was working hard! Judah looked only slightly interested.
If Joe averages 28mpg I’ll give you my entire salary for 2023 lolIf Judah is really good and actually ready, and we don’t go with a 3 guard lineup…..I’d cap Joe around 28….IMO.
Oh, I know it won’t happen. If Joe averages 28mpg I’ll give you my entire salary for 2023 lol
I agree, but I'm going to withhold judgement. This probably seemed like so many all-star games he's (recently) played in where defense was an afterthought. I'm guessing JB will motivate him sufficiently.Intensity is not like a faucet most people can just turn off and on. Some few can. Practice how you play. Effort is a learned and reinforced behavior. Don't make statements you won't back up. LOL!If Joe averages 28mpg I’ll give you my entire salary for 2023 lol
Told people don't sleep on QuadirWanted to post this earlier but had important dad things to do today, an leaves to rake.
Was a good turn out at Blue Cross last night. Matt Park did as good of a job MCing the event as one could ask for.
Overall the events were well paced with the three point shooting being the best event of the night. My two young ones were well entertained for the 2 hour event. Also good to see/have the open vendors and beer options. Cheers!
For the 3 point event, Justin Taylor has a really smoth shot and looks to be one of the better shooters on the team. Chris Bunch ended up winning it and has a bit of a flat looking shot, but if it goes in it all counts the same. Joe is Joe and missed some early shots that put him behind. Joe also looks to have slimmed down a bit and his shot is just sooooo effortless.
The dunk contest was terrible...nothing more to be said or learned from that event.
The scrimmage gave a good look at the length this team has. Backline is a bit small in size, but their length and quickness could bring back some of the traps that were a common event back in 2010 - 2013. Another interesting take away for me was that Gerry did all of the "coaching." Jim would be on the floor behind the team huddles and let Gerry fo his thing.
The most impressive player of the night was Quadir Coppland. Damn...he is a player. Not extremely explosive, but there is just something on how he plays. All of the freshmen have some really good potential. Judah seemed to be pressing the whole night, but you can see he wants to be the Alpha on the team. Symir, Jesse did their things, and Joe played off the ball the whole night. He seems better off playing off screens and setting up for a quick shot or pass. Peter Cary...he has some bounce. Needs to put on 20 lbs as he was pushed around a bit, but can alter shots. Also has a good jumper form 15 out.
Benny didn't play and it will be interesting to see how he fits in.
Overall, this is a young team but one that has some good, young, potential. I left very impressed. Cuse will struggle against the more physical teams, but they can roll out 4 players that can spread the floor and let Symir or Judah penitrate.
for over 3 minutesThat was a rare occasion when JB held for the last shot when behind by 1.
If that’s old then I’m prehistoric .Oh, I know it won’t happen.
But if Mintz is good and ready, it probably should.
I’m old enough to remember when Scoop, Triche, and Waiters all played 23-25 mpg.
