Besides the fact that Cuse has four midweek 9pm home games and Duke and UNC have zero each, here is some more schedule favoritism. On Saturday/Monday turnaround games, Syracuse has two. The first one is a 6pm Saturday home game vs ND, but then they have to get on a plane to play at UNC on Monday. The second, Cuse plays home vs SMU on Saturday and then have to get on a plane again to play at Duke on Monday. Two pretty tough road games with limited prep due to travel.
UNC also has two. The first one they play at Georgia Tech on a Saturday but get to come home to play Syracuse on Monday. The next one is similar where the Saturday game is a road game vs Syracuse and then get to travel home again to face Louisville. Much more accommodating playing the Monday games at home, where you are doing the majority of your travel on Friday.
Now, let's talk about the Golden Child. Duke has three Saturday/Monday turnaround. Seems reasonable until you look closer. The first one is home and home, Wake and Louisville. No travel involved. The second one is also home and home, Clemson and Cuse. Again, no travel involved. And the third one is home and away. OK, good. Home Saturday vs Virginia and Monday away at NC State. Yup, a 47 minute bus ride.
The ACC is a piece of doo doo. I'll ask the same question that I asked in the other thread. Does anyone in the Syracuse athletic office even recognize these issues and are they formally complaining to the ACC Commissioner. Or are they sitting on their tuchus and just taking whatever the ACC gives us.
C'mon Mr. ESPN. Make some noise.
