Sy has been playing college ball for 3 years. Don't you think, if he could, he would have improved beyond what he is now? What exactly do you think is going to change that hasn't already happened in 3 years?
He’s never gotten a lot of minutes - and he’s got the kind of game that would look better when running the show than coming off the bench for spot minutes. Same as Z Sims and Allen Griffin.

He improved the entire year.
ould he start for UMass?
Hes a heck of a lot better than we have seen.
I saw the same thing in Frank and most on here didn't.
Sys good. Hes the total package. He lacks a shot which to your point is bad. But compared to Joe who frankly only has a shot he is exponentially better at the point.
That's the bar? Not a high one. What ACC school would either Symir or Frank start on? I know that fans only really watch their team but ...and you just wrote that he is much better than we have seen. Is he better than Kadary? We saw him just last year.

Oh Man, Symir is not in those guys leagues. Griff started as a soph before sitting as a Jr. And Laz split time with LLoyd his Jr year. Those guys were much better than Symir.

His skillset is different than Kadary's, I would take Symir.

I beg to differ.

We've had guys like KrisJo, CJ, Silent G (prior to becoming PG), Mali, and Eli playing what effectively was the 3rd guard for us.

And Marek handled like a guard very often for us too.

Sure. But you can't play JG3 with 2 guys shorter than him since someone will have to play on the wing.

We've been hamstrung by the coaches kid who had no handle for 3 years occupying one guard spot.

Now its a question of what we have on the wing If Cole leaves I am not sure we have a single good wing player on the team at the moment. Benny is miles away from being a good player I assume he will improve somewhat but he could get significantly better and still be nowhere near good enough to be a starter in the ACC.

There is not no option to play 3 quick little guys with 2 bigs which lots of teams do. If we added the Colgate PG we couldn't put him on the floor with Joe and Symir unless we ditched the zone.

Z played 14.7 mpg as a junior and averaged 3 points and 2.6 assists. His game really shined when he was the QB of the team as a senior.

Griff started at the 2, but wasn’t very good at it. Showed flashes his freshman and junior year when he got the chance at PG minutes. Shined as a senior when he was the QB.

Not saying Symir is as good as them, but that I think his game would be more conducive to running the show like there’s was. He’s a QB like them IMO. Guy who looks for teammates and knows where and when to get them the ball.

Dont sleep on Benny. He is very good. His confidence was shattered. Kids super talented. Great compliment to Cole. Forwards need to be ham and eggs. Not ham and ham light. Same with Gs.
This year we had 2 forwards with similar skills and limitations. Same with Buddy and Joe. Good shooters average in other aspects. They didnt compliment each other.

Perfect. We had guys who did certain things very well. Unfortunately, what they didn't do well, they all didn't do well. The opposite of a team. It's like a baseball team having 9 left handed hitters that lack power but have speed.

I don't want to come off like I don't like the kid. But he isn't a starter on a good team. And I want us to be a good team.

The last seasons of PG play have been so subpar for national relevance that some solid play by Torrence has been overblown.

Torrence should be a 15-25 MPG backup depending on how he is playing game to game.
You know like most coaches who don’t predetermine minutes for their players.

JB’s rotations have broken people.
What Torrence showed was we didn’t need Buddy 37MPG, Joe 34MPG and we had a kid on the bench who could give us rotation minutes.

I don’t want Torrence getting 30+ MPG.

If we miss out on Mintz we need a portal PG.

These last 3 years have been brutal because we haven’t even tried to play rotations. Its been tenure.

No player deserves tenure unless they are legit NBA talent and are really good.

Rotations like we had with Scoop-Triche-Waiters where each guy gets 24-28 MPG are what are needed if we don’t have elite talent which Waiters was.

The last 3 years are done.

We're the Phillies?
