Most Memorable Performance Against SU

Calvin Murphy 68 pts in 1968. SU’s Bill Smith had 41 that day.
The 68 was at Niagara. We held him to 50 at Manley. I remember some of that game.

In my mind, there has never been anyone as quick on the dribble as Murphy. He--like Jerry West--was criticized for being unable to go left. Didn't keep either of them from scoring pretty much at will.

Dude from Seton Hall at the Dome and the kid I can’t pronounce his name from St Johns a few years back who couldn’t miss.

Not the s e xiest names out there but those two performances left me scratching my head and were totally unexpected.

yup...Hazell was the first player I thought of before clicking. Dude was insane that night

yea, I read the OP too quickly and thought it was any game.

Darius Lane (which has probably already been named). First guy I thought of.

Freshman Magic Johnson is the only player to be named MVP of the carrier classic from a losing team. He was unreal.

Dr. J also put a heck of a show on against cuse.

Felipe Lopez’ Dome coming out party
Ray Allen had a great game against us
I seem to remember Kittles and Shaheen Holloway with big games, as well as Mullin, Walter Berry and Ewing.
Mark Price kicked our butt.

I was there for the 50 game.

Pick a player from that DePaul team that destroyed us in March of '06.
I remember that game mostly for going thru a bout of food poisoning during the game. After I was well, I had to double check the score because I thought I had imagined it. Truly one of the batshit craziest results in Cuse history.

Drazen Petrovic in an exhibition game at the Dome I think in 1988. Case of man among boys.

Did we recruit Felipe?

Well I just found an article that said St Johns won a furious recruiting war with Seton Hall, Kansas, UCLA and Florida State so I guess I am wrong.

I remember Otto Porter looking like a superstar that day.
He had 33pts 8reb 5stls 12/19FG 5/10 on 3’s.
We had a top 20 defense that year and a great squad. Still couldn’t stop him.

The next two games we played them that season he combined for 22pts. But that one day he kicked our arses by himself.

Boeheim said he was the best player in Big East history after that game.

When you combine the fact that this was pre three point era, with I believe a 45 second shot clock, and that he was 5 freaking 9 inches tall, that's just unreal.

Shot clock? Pssht. No shot clock!
