My latest download. I wrote and rewrote this like 3 times since that debacle of a 2nd half on Saturday. This one is more a running stream of consciousness than anything else, but I gotta think others are feeling the same way right about now.

This is a very well written article. It’s comprehensive, civil, and level headed. Yet at the same time it is a scathing critique of Baber’s performance and deficiencies, because it is all true.

Great article. Finally a reporter that calls out the problems instead of sugar coating the issues.
Someone should send JW a copy but like the issues you continue to see with the football program it will receive no attention.
DB said once he reads everything that is printed. This article should be his first read this morning and every morning until he accepts changes need to be made.
If not the article will be a good start on why we have a new coach in 2022.

To be clear...this was not a "Fire Coach" piece. I'm too old to be calling for another person to lose their jobs. But...it was essentially me throwing my hands up in frustration. We need to start seeing more answers and fewer questions. if not, it may just be inevitable.

I think we all know that DB is not a "change" type of coach during the season. I expect that he is going to go out in flames with his chosen one (TD) at the most important offensive position. Playing Albany this week will not help because the play calling will be Run, Run, Run. Tucker and company will get 80% of the play calls. Of course, this will prompt DB to tell us all how great Tommy played and that he has separated himself from all competition.

Outstanding article.

You are correct...if he is willing to "accept" changes. The jury has been out for a while now.

The most damning thing I’ve seen said about Dino is that his offense went from fast to last. We dont have a high gear offense anymore, looks like we stopped trying to make that happen. I recall Dino saying something about needing the right personnel when he started but I think we now know that’s bunk as well

I appreciate this take. It's fair, not emotional and I think it speaks to the fans' sense of bewilderment and disappointment.

I have my takes on how to change things up, but honestly, at this point, I'm like that Keenan character on SNL when asked how to make things better, "FIX IT!".

I don't want to have to go through my own seven step process to make things better. It's year six. Make it happen.

If hat is the case he can point to himself for the recruiting.

It was a lot more emotion driven on its first draft. But that doesnt help anything at all. As far as I am concerned, the second blind irrationality shows up, all the valid points get lost. So yeah, i heavily edited myself and rewrote till it felt right.

Well done...very fair.

Masterfully written, with the ending pitch perfect. Sadly.

Do people honestly believe that Wildhack does not know where the program is lacking on and off the field right now. I find that tough to believe.
You think he fires Dino if we win 3 games?

I hate to see people lose their jobs but these jobs are disproportionately high paying and very binary as to success/failure which is the wins/losses. We need to realize that the program is broken to some extent. If we can't fire the coach b/c we are too old to deal with that or we're broke and can't afford it, then the fandom will suffer.

3 may be a magical number. Anything less would likely mean 0 P5 wins and he would have to go. I think with 3 that the cost to buy everyone out and then replace them is going to be too much of a hindrance to the athletic department.

I think he most likely would have to but not 100% sure and nobody is. I think 5 wins he would be OK and then no bowl next year he's gone. I don't think they want to pay the buyout unless they 100% have to especially this year with everything that has gone past 18 months and I don't blame them. We aren't State U or USC. Just have to live with it.

If I were Dino I would start Shrader and start running the crap out of the ball with the QB and 3 running backs. Until they absolutely make it impossible for you not to pass.

Good article. It's truly baffling that things were so wide open with Shafer's players and Dungey and now it's all his guys and the offense is a conservative trainwreck. At one point in the last weeks game thread I asked what is the appropriate amount of money that Dino should send to Dungey for getting him that big raise and extension. It seems absurd to say but the more you look at it, it's almost the only explanation that makes any sense. Dungey may have just been so good that he made everything work. He leaves and everything has went to . I think it's like 75% Dungey, 25% Sean Lewis.

Really enjoyed talking with you at the tailgate. I’m very concerned about Liberty at this point and discouraged in general after the tough loss to Rutgers. If the offense continues to struggle, where will we find the wins we need? The defense has been great, but we need points and they’re not coming easily. Our performance against Rutgers just isn’t going to cut it...
