It's important for my mental health that:

-Wisc does not hit their first three, esp if it's one where we don't get up on the shooter.
-We get a good look and run good sets the first few possessions, 3-4 mins. Don't force an entry pass that is not there or settle for a three, or a mid-range CJ jumper. I want to see Kris take it hard on the first 2-3 poss, with CJ cleaning up. Then CJ take a few hard right to the hole.

When that happens, I'm confident that we will be able to run our offense the way we want and not having to wait to halftime and hope for adjustments.

-We are not down 5-2, 8-2, or 13-4, etc. It's usually two hours of watching from a negative state of mind, vs. two hours of a positive state. Well, that's not really true because there's always the feeling that "hey, we're only up 8 with two mins, they have time"...

-James and/or Brandon hit the first three they get. Sure, it probably doesn't really mean much for the entire game but when I see James (and to a lesser extent Brandon) hit the first three, I then start to feel we won't lose.

-I'd like to see at least two presses in the first half, esp if we are winning. Sure, it probably does not force a TO against them or make them rush their shot. However, it always gives us an extra step. Maybe at the 15/16 min mark, bring in Dion, James and Baye and slap it on.

If we do those things, I'm happy, which means everyone on this board is going to be happy!

haha, I used to feel the same way about the other team's first 3pt attempt. Now I'm more concerned about closing out on their shooters and making it a contested shot.

I think it would be great if the offense was crisp and aggressive in the early going. That certainly wasn't the case vs KState and I doubt it will be vs. Wisco.

Free throw shooting will be huge in this one. I hope Brandon and CJ can snap out of their funk at the line.

I hear what you're saying...

But the only thing sure-fire way to feeling good is if SU has more points that Wiscy at the end of 40 minutes

5-2? Come on now.

However, 6-2 -- that is a different story.

Scoring on the first possession, forcing Wisky into a bad first shot and Rak grabbing the rebound

Man, that's a long wish list. Hope Santa is good to you, but we'll okay no matter what happens. Thank God these games are 40 minutes long and not 10. :)

My mental health will have what your mental health is having!

Regarding Dirty hitting his first three, I would much rather see that than Brandon hitting his first three. Dirty is a better pure shooter, but I have more faith in Brandon knocking down a three after missing his first attempt than Dirty, if that makes sense. It seems like Dirty's offensive production is predicated upon whether or not his first shot goes in.

I have no factual basis to back that up, it just seems that way to me, and I'm a leading scientician so you can trust me.

Well i work in statistics for a professional team so you're wrong.

A professional team of what?
I was poking fun at that guy that apparently doesn't post here anymore but always got in fights and claimed statistical superiority to all of us. Couldn't remember his handle so apparently the joke didnt work. :(

I would add not being 0 - 3 from three in the first five minutes. I'd prefer we not have more than 8-10 threes all game long, especially if they are going to defend us in the man to man.

I interpret this as:

"Scoop, guard your guy on the perimeter even on the third passthru around the horn".

I don't get why he often guards his guy well the first couple pass-arounds and the third or fourth passthru he lays off and slides late as his guy gets an uncontested shot off.

I want to see more focus and discipline form our 5th year senior PG on D.

Ah, are you referring to fanfanclubclub?

I hope so, because poking fun at him is satisfying.

Worked on me. That guy's doctoral thesis on why JSouth sucked was unforgettable.

That said. Wisconsin. The state, the school, all varieties of cheese and the Packers. Let's kick the crayap out of them!

LGF'nO!!!!

78.6 percent of us have done that in the past.
