To everyone who is bashing Hunt... let's consider where he was as a quarterback last year. For almost all of ACC play he was arguably the worst QB in the conference, and yet we still went 7-6 (though those last two wins were because of him). He has to improve his accuracy, but let's not forget, if you count his rushing, he has 6-1 TD to pick ratio thus far.

He closes a couple of those drives the other day, and we're singing his praises.

I understand why everyone is frustrated... because we were a better team than UMD and we came soooo tantalizingly close to scoring too many times. If we closed drives, we blow that team out. Fourteen of their points came off a turnover and a blocked punt.

He's so close, so jumping off the bridge at this point is dumb. That being said, this game this Saturday in primetime is huge and might be the biggest game of his career thus far. It can't come soon enough.

Totally agree. While I don't think TH will ever be a great QB here, I believe he is on the brink of becoming a solid one. Right now he is a great runner/not so good passer.

lousy passer who can keep drives alive can get you 7 wins (MD makes that a lot harder to do). we don't have anyone better yet to get greedier. if he can make a leap to get from 115 rating to 140 next year, then 9 wins becomes a possibility

Why is it when constructive criticism is made some call it jumping off a bridge? We aren't mindless hero worshipers.

"He closes a couple of those drives the other day, and we're singing his praises. " He didn't.

"He has to improve his accuracy, but let's not forget, if you count his rushing, he has 6-1 TD to pick ratio thus far." Do we count the times he hands off without fumbling as completions also? One of the reason his passing suffers is that he takes off too soon.

I like Hunt and have big hopes for him but Saturday he was terrible and the main cause of losing the game. That is just obvious. He was inaccurate, ran too soon when receivers were open downfield, fumbled (almost twice), dropped a snap, carelessly missed a play call that resulted in a pick 6. He just had a very bad game.

Hunt was superposed to have made big strides in his passing but apparently not really there yet. Is there still time for that this year? Of course. Does that have anything to do with the MD game? No.

Nobody is jumping off bridges and nobody is going to get fired because of poor execution in one game. But it is fair to criticize.

There are people who are asking for Wilson to start and just blasting Hunt... relax

One guy who also got blasted by every reply that followed.

Is complaining about his passing going to make him pass better or do people just enjoy causing themselves stress? He has great potential and even in an "awful" game he rushed for 150+ yards. Just a testament to how far this guy has come & has so much more room for growth.

The early drops killed a lot of things, including Hunt's rhythm IMO.

The Broyld pass was right on the money and could have gone for big yardage. The McFarlane drop gets another first down, or sets us up for a 3rd and very short. There were a couple others, too.

Hunt wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination. Not defending his passing at all. But he didn't get much help from his receivers either.

I see, we just have to praise him whatever he does? I think there is a word for that. Oh yes, sycophant.

We know he missed some passes... but some people on here are crucifying him. I'm pretty sure you agree with me.

True enough. There were 4 drops of catchable balls. One was by Custis on a screen that was a bit low but certainly catchable and he had running room with only the closing LB to beat and he would have had a good angle. Broyld's was a sure TD.

There were a couple of great catches as well including Estime's 20 yarder.

All in all, Hunt's accuracy was way off. He got worse as the game wore on. This bothers me more than other things as he usually get better.

He should just forget this game and work hard on fundamentals this week and let if fly on Saturday evening.

We were even with MD (apart from a blocked punt, a missed FG and a pick six) only because of Hunt's running. He is by far our MVP. Yes he needs to improve his accuracy and get more help from his WRs if we are to win big games.

The numbers (considering passing and rushing statistics) show that statistically Terrell Hunt is an average QB in FBS football. No more and no less. Average QB's on a team with the current talent level of Syracuse and considering our current competition will get you around a .500 record on an annual basis.

Imo, any argument to the far left or right of him being simply average isn't supported by the numbers or his gameplay over the 14 or so games he has played to date.

I am a big Hunt fan and I thought he got screwed last year with the Drew experiment. I think the team will rise and fall on his performances. However, he really does deserve all the criticism for Saturday becasue he really was very bad. He played like it was his first start. It goes with the territory for every QB. Hunt hasn't received half the criticism as Ryan endured.

Yesterday Hunt just got worse as the game wore on. He missed more than some passes. So much so that McDonald had to run the ball 79% of the time in the second half when we were behind by 18. Can't blame him as Hunt had a stretch of 4-15 and was not getting any better. I think Hunt lost confidence, which is why he took off so many times when receivers were open.

He also screwed up carelessly on the signal on the pick 6, he fumbled, dropped a snap, telegraphed his throws - he ran for over 100 yards - big deal that does not win too many games at this level.

Perhaps Hunt is trying too hard. Sometime you just have to go out there and play. I remain a Hunt fan and I think he will give us some thrills this season I will be pulling for him.
(I still think those ugly costumes have something to do with it!)

Final 3 games of 2013:
66/100 66.0% 617 yards (6.17 per attempt) 3 TDs/1 Int
40 carries for 177 yards 3 TDs

First 3 games of 2014:
44/75 58.67% 488 yards (6.51 per attempt) 1 TD/1 Int
39 carries for 276 yards 5 TDs

There's no doubt his decisions on when to run have had a positive impact on the yardage. I'm wondering if he's becoming more fatigued from the extra yardage and the hits, which could be effecting his passing?

Okay so you do agree. Thanks.
