It's dangerous to feel this way, because something like 40 or more of Fran's own recruits are not still here. We could be loaded as hell this year with all the linemen and defensive players we've lost. A few good receivers, too.

Cuse doesn’t have unlimited funds to spend on players, and often we just have to accept that we can’t afford to keep all of them.

The original poster was projecting how good our roster will be in 2027. That's what I was responding to.
You can't project the roster, when even Fran Brown lost 40+ of his DART guys in 2 years.

Agree we cant have a young team every year and hope they develop, need to win now in CFB. Everyone was raving how great our young WR’s were going to be Gill, Ross, etc..they are all gone. Same with our RB, gone…

I get what you are saying. But Fran also took like 40 players a class as well. We are going to lose players. A lot of that is us losing the players Fran decides he wants to lose.

You specifically mentioned the Lines and WR. On the DL we lost Watson that certainly hurt, and then we lost King Joseph Edwards as well who had potential. On the OL we lost Cruz who hadn't done much but broke out as as Senior. Other than that I guess maybe Jonre Reed and maybe Wouhlabaugh? At WR we lost Gill and then Pena. E Ross had good potential and then Johntay Cook I guess. But again he was a guy we got to replace Pena. All over 2 years.

We are going to lose some good players in these portal times, but we will also replace most of them in the portal as well. I'm just saying it will be a positive to not also lose a lot of your best players to graduation as well as we don't have a lot of prominent seniors in 2026. Yes we will still lose some guys but Its a positive thing looking to 2027.
