My Take

I assume the Ref's will change, If not the game will be changed and it will lose fans quickly. The game's continuity was ruined last night. It will be like Baseball (Turn the channel and watch your Favorite 1/2 Show) then turn back and their in the same inning. When a rule change comes the Ref's take it to the nth degree.
Glad to hear Jim Satalin on the radio again he is a +,wonder what his take is on the overzealous Ref's?

The voice recognition software is good in a lot of ways, but as the good folks hear have pointed out, it has some drawbacks too. When you type something incorrectly, you usually get jumbled packs of letters that the spell check helpfully points out need to be addressed. When your text comes from this software, you are going to get actual words. If the software isn't sure what you said, it will give it's best shot and you get what you get. Maybe the problem is my Great Lakes accent. Regionally preferential software. Probably written by someone from Boston or LA.

I tried to review what I typed and correct the problems. The word foul for instance, came out as file seemingly every time I said it. Since there were so many called, this was not cool at all. Anyway, I see now I have to really review what the VR software comes up with. I could end up making a proposal or challenging Mike Tyson to a fight if I am not careful.

For the Cornell game, I had no time to review the My Take. Went to sleep immediately after posting it, drove to Maryland as soon as I woke up and didn't get around to even looking at the reaction to it until Sunday evening. At least this time I tried to clean it up this morning.

The later start does not help things. I think we have a couple of 9 PM games on the schedule this season. If I elect to make my post on those games on gamenight, you might see some really interesting things.

Anyway, some other random things...

1) Cto was featured on the Say Cheese Cam during the Cornell game. They know who the real celebrities are.

2) My favorite student chant of the year so far was "Harvard rejects!". It was repeated for several minutes by the SU students late in the Cornell game, when the game was clearly over. Might have been in response to the Cornell cheerleader who brought a Safety School sign to the SU-Cornell game last year.

3) I have been critical of Dome management for the lack of diversity in the food and drinks available. Not sure how long this has been happening, but the stand where the Burger King used to be (it is behind section 121 I think, in the Northeast corner of the Dome, the corner closest to Hendricks Chapel), offers a variety of Saranac beers, as well as chicken tenders, sweet potato fries and onion rings. One of my friends had the chicken tenders and pronounced them very good. 2 of my crew had Saranac Pale Ales and gave them a solid thumbs up. Another person in my section said the sweet potato fries were good. And my nose tells me that the onion rings might be very good as well.

at least "Judgment" was spelled correctly.

The food in the Saranac concession area is good I had it during WF football game. I just wish SU would work out a deal with Dinosaur or other local places for a stand or two. Just because the Dome is 30+ years doesn't mean they can't at least offer some new food items.

Always thought a "Taste of Central New York" stand would be a nice touch. Dinosaur, Hinerwadl's Salt Potatoes, NYS wines, Lupo's Spiedis. Got the beer and the Hoffman's covered. What else am I missing?

Trow in some Udikka greens and a plate of chicken riggies, maybe some Brooks chicken, a Doug's Fish Fry sammich, ice cold UC to wash it down with, and I tink yas got sumpin. Oh, and ditch the Lupo's for Salamida's. Marriages in the tier happen and fall apart based on the Lupo's/Salamida's split, ya know.

I'd like to see your report from voice recognition software with code written in "CTO typing after half a bottle of wine". That would bring a whole new meaning to "awesome". :)

Varsity Pizza
Varsity or Twin Trees.
They need to add coneys to the mix for Hoffman.
I think the sausage currently used is Gianelli's. If not, it should be.
Also
Chicken riggies with vodka sauce
Half moon cookies from Harrison
Cheeseburger subs/Crogan baloney subs from Oswego/Empire Subs
Reubens from Danzers
Pastrami sandwiches from Brooklyn Pickle.

You need to change the title of this thread to "My Taste" from "My Take"...

It is amazing how many times on this board food completely hijacks whatever the original thread topic was...

all amazing mouth watering idea's. i am so sick of eating a slab of semi warm sbarro's pizza.

although within the past year we have been distributing Saranac Black Forest, Redds Apple Ale, Yuengling, and Magic Hat #9 to enhance the beer selection

So basically you got a foul on a foul?

Coleman's rebounding was great, did ok on offense but him getting stuffed and him putting on the floor is getting beyond old.

Why does he get a rebound and brings the ball down to his knees?

Smallish crowd tonight. I would guess about 17 K all told. The student turnout was also much smaller than for the Cornell game.

Some good nuggets in there.

-I liked what I saw from Roberson. In a real short amount of time, he's getting more comfortable. To me, it's clear is playing on using him against a zone and pop him in the middle. He is already really good and hitting the middle and making a good decision, whether driving, passing or hitting the 10 footer. He is a great looking stroke. When is the last big 3, or 4 that had that smooth a touch?

-DC is one maddening player but then I have to continually tell myself bigs take 3 or 4 years. He had one play where he power dribbled away from the basketball and into a double team. It's going to take him a long time to get real comfortable. The ability is there, no doubt, but he is #3 on the pecking order.

-JG had a so so game, imo. However, if a so so game is 16 points and 10 boards or whatever, we are in great shape with him.

-I have never complained about the rotation in 20+ years and agree Baye is best off the bench for what this team needs. However, I would kill for JG to start just so we can take it to teams right away. Obviously JB knows what he's doing and is managing other things (egos, PT, growth/development, mental-strength, etc).

Thanks for your "my take" posts!

Southerland was a big 3.

That's was poorly worded on my part. I meant for a frosh. Most really struggle, like Hak at 37%, DNich at 44%, etc.

Looked at JS and he was not very good his first three years 50% (though only a few FT), 69.7 and 70%. But yes, he was a 4/3 with a good stroke last year!

LOL. Last I knew, CTO did have an iPhone. This could happen...
