my weekly hunt stat post

Because of course it's completely beyond the realm of possibility that he'll improve.

Hunt throwing long balls right now looks a lot like Nassib throwing long balls his 1st and 2nd years.

People are killing him - but he was so close on 2 of those long passes. Complete those and he's at 250, maybe an extra score or two.

I like Tanner Price.

But it's hard to be effective when you're running for your life.

And on Saturday he was running for his life - without his go-to receiver.

And because of it, I thought his numbers really started to tank as the game went on. That just wears on you.

First half, he was completing a lot of those passes. Was driving me crazy.

I thought Wake should have committed more to the run, especially after the Campanero injury. Maybe that's the flaw in their offense. Harris isn't a bad back, but they don't let him get into a rhythm. He'd break off a 10 yard run, and you wouldn't see him again until the next drive.

i hope someone is good next year. if it's hunt, great. I'm not betting on it. playing qb in college is not as hard as it used to be. we don't have to wait forever, this isn't 1988 NFL

I see a far better touch and not so many throws way out of bounds but he does not have Nassibs arm strength. I agree the long tosses don't have enough air on them at times that gives the receiver time to run underneath the ball. A lot of us remember Nassib's last year and not those first twoas you pointed out because they are the freshest and most recent.

Plus, as I like to say..."The good old days theory" when you romanticize the past. I think Hunt is doing fine at such an early stage of his career, especially considering the wr's struggling a bit.

Oh no don't get me wrong, Hunt is defintely closer on his long balls than Nassib was, especially Nassib's first year as a starter. But the end result is the same.

Nassib's first year, I remember him overthrowing people out of bounds on long balls. He came a long, long way by the time he was a senior.

Don't disagree, but I think we had so many QB's prior to Nassib that either never developed, improved, or even regressed in some cases, that the concept of a Syracuse QB showing significant improvement year over year is lost on us.
