If he can get to basket to basket for 30 minutes a game. You can not teach that size, he will at least be a defensive presence around the basket.

Then I guess he’s just gonna stay 7’4” cause he’s not an athlete.Great pick up, you can't teach 7'4" or athleticism.
Better than the thunderstorm on the 72 parade a few years back.Don’t rain on our 7’4” parade
If you catch an ally oop against a Swiss cheese zone you’re athletic. Then I guess he’s just gonna stay 7’4” cause he’s not an athlete.
Is he going to be Hakeem the Dream in the post, absolutely not. But the kid is a freaking unit. You must game plan around him or he will punish you. I mean Lob City baby!Guy can’t move his feet. Are we staying zone? What’s the deal here? Don’t like this pickup if we are playing man.
I will hold judgment until I see him play in our new system.
Hope Maliq can add some muscle because he can be an excellent rebounderThe inability to recruit a legit big man or find a bruiser down low in the zone that can vacuum rebounds has held this program back since Christmas left

We also had this dude one time called Jesse Edwards. Not sure if that name rings a bell for others.I loved Rak. His per 40 rebs in his third year here were 8.6. McLeod in his second year at FSU was 8.2.
Again loved Rak and we always argued over his minutes etc but the light came on in all aspects his final year.

10.3 rebounds a game, 2.7 blocks. He could at least "vacuum rebounds"Huh? Jesse wasn't a bruiser as was the point being made.
So, you're saying you would prefer they roll with the current roster over bringing in another Center?3 ppg bench guy from a 9 win team. We’re popping champagne to this?
Seems like a warm body move, I think they staff realizes that our three projects aren’t ready, just wish we got a better warm body. I trust the staff, but they know this isn’t ideal.Don't love the signing, but willing to see how it works.
Absolutely not saying that, if I bang a 4 tonight, not celebrating the 5 I bang tomorrow. So, you're saying you would prefer they roll with the current roster over bringing in another Center?
Because, otherwise, celebration for improving the roster is what fans do.
I'd love to dig up the Chukwu commitment thread. I remember many of the same things being said about him at 7'2". I just don't know what we can do with this guy offensively. Can he catch the ball and be a rim runner? Most bigs we get always seem to have horrible hands.Seems like a warm body move, I think they staff realizes that our three projects aren’t ready, just wish we got a better warm body. Better than Trey and 70 Volt Parade.Better than the thunderstorm on the 72 parade a few years back.
Based on his 40% free throw shooting, I'm going to say he shouldn't have a basketball in his hands unless he's dunking a putback.I'd love to dig up the Chukwu commitment thread. I guess by the numbers one of these guys has to emerge.Based on his 40% free throw shooting, I'm going to say he shouldn't have a basketball in his hands unless he's dunking a putback.
Pickings were slim at the center position, and we have four of them now.
