Nait George in the portal

Kiyan , Luke and Kingz( if he gets a waiver) would be the 3 I’m guessing that stay and I’m completely fine with that. I do like Sadiq a lot but he’s not some unicorn unique player.
We are all just guessing here, but the 3 you listed for the 3 spot wouldn't seem to align well with the positional size GMac is looking for, or the skill sets. Lots of predictions for Luke being asked to stay. And maybe he will. But no one has really seen what he can do at this level. The only "fact" we have is that he didn't see the floor for Red.

Kingz and Kiyan would have positional size at the 2. There is the waiver issue and agent issue to account for with the Kingz projections.

No disagreement other than Luke does have the pedigree as being a shooter and positional size for a SG. Kingz is of course a major guess around the waiver. Also as you noted very much just a guess.

My bad, I misread it as you were suggesting Fennel at the 3.

It's more than the waiver for Kingz.

Yeah didn’t mean to leave your comment out on that re : Kingz agent. As painful as it may seem to have to start fresh bringing back just one or two means a lot of work but no real baggage either. College kids are different than adults but having taken over departments under failed leaders in my work life- it’s far easier to start with as many new people as possible even if there is something to work with there. Just slows everything down.

If nothing else, it will be interesting to watch how this all plays out.

Even without knowing the players, I feel good about the possibility that next year's team will play MUCH differently than anything we have witnessed over the last 4-5 years.

Yeah and a lot. He was the highest paid player on the team by a sickening amount. He coulda cared less if the team won. One of my least favorites ever if you can’t tell lol
Well this is what Gmac is dealing with. Gotta find guys who will play their butts off even if they are getting paid. Finding the correct personality’s is so big now even more then ever!

Yeah- it’s not as simple as this but just the fact you blend what Gerry brings with a Martelli Jr guy and a Rhoades guy for defense. That alone clearly means no shortage of good ideas, intensity and recruiting chops. Also a lot of winning in that group. So look forward to the team they assemble and how well they can work together and flip this quick.

It was brutal listening to broadcasts. I remember multiple people calling games talking about how George dribbled into the corner with nowhere to go over and over again ha.

Good bye, Mr Nait George. Hope you enjoyed your stopover. I don’t really have any good memories based on your play so I guess thanks for showing up to the games on time. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Wow, a lot of harshness on this Board towards Nait. I made many posts about being concerned with his TOs throughout the season, but he really cut down on them in the last 5 or 10 games. I thought he was one of the few players who actually improved during the course of the season under Red's coaching.

I would have liked to see him return and perhaps take the next step under Gerry.

Good luck, Nait !!!

If you watch some of the replays he was playing for Nait George the entire year and no one else except maybe Akir at times. The joking around when we were losing was what truly bothered me but he never once showed he was trying to be a leader and was not playing for the other 4 guys on the court or the name on the front.

I know he had his limitations, but if Nait had a legitimate shooting guard as his backcourt mate I think he could have potentially worked out here. I would been OK keeping him as the first guard off the bench for a lot less money. But I’m sure he wants to start somewhere and get paid.

Happy see this, I’m sure he’s a fine kid but not a good fit for P4 basketball. I think the big question will be how many teams did he talk to last year because I don’t think he can make the “well the fit wasn’t there” argument twice in a row

Glad that Gmac said he watched all the SU games this year. He had already scouted the team and knows who he can work with and who is worthy of nil NIL.
Going forward will not be business as usual.

Agree with most of the sentiment in here. Frustrating player for sure. It's kind of weird too because I remember listening to a preseason interview with him and he said the right things and *sounded* like a strong leader

I mentioned a few times at the end of the season that our GM, for the single move of getting Nait AND paying that much, was alone a fireable offense!

at the time everyone felt it was a great pick up. he was ranked anywhere from the #1 to #5 best available pg in the portal. we overpaid just to get him. but it was lauded by analysts and fans alike.
