Anyone who watched the games could tell they werent playing hard. It was common theme on game threads. Lack of effort also reflected in lack of attendance, fans dont pay to watch that kind of effort.

Exactly! The announcers doing the games even commented on the lack of effort they saw. I think there was one game where Devo held back what he really wanted to say because he was so embarrassed watching the OLE defense and the passes directly to the other team. George had plenty of stupid turnovers and then never hustled back to prevent the bucket.
