People want him back if he can play within a system and be a two way player. They don’t want him to be a “Give me the ball and get out of my way” player and they don’t want to pay him so much that it impedes getting other players.

Nah, definitely not screwed. Keep in mind most of this banter is speculation. If the NIL reaches the levels that many predict, we should be able to assemble a very competitive roster. But, the time to worry about the roster is after we see how it all shapes up.

Even at $12M, I don't think we will be able to afford more than 1 or 2 top end additions with the exponentially larger NIL offers that we are likely to see.

It will be very interesting to see how this staff determines relative value and allocates funds in this market.

he can come back at a reduced price. But he is too lazy on defense, didn't improve his back to the basket play whatsoever, and quits on games. He's not worth 2M. If i wanted a 6'10" guy who just sits at the 3 pt and shoots turn arounds I can find them at just about any lower level school for a quartr of the price. He has skills but doesnt use them. That might be a coachig issues

Dude anyone who watched nait knows he’s fools gold. Your point would have merit if people were originally saying he should stay and then said he was bad after he left. Instead, the board has largely been plenty happy to see him go. Dudes like JJ, garbage stat builder on garbage teams.

Does anyone here think George is a great passer? I’ve seen some amazing passers at SU and George never struck me as anything great.

I think it is more nuanced.

He is a great passer in transition, but struggled in half court.

However, it is easiest to handle the ball / dish for assists when you are running. Paul Harris looked phenomenal in transition, which is why people believed he might devleop into a "point guard." No, he was great in transition, but lousy running an offense in a half court set.

Coincidentally, George wasn't good at that, either.

So... depends on what you mean by "great passer." He had good court vision, and in transition hit on a bunch of lobs, dimes for his teammates. In half court sets? Not so much.
