Nardi following Daoust on twitter

Uh, not so much. Good position coach, yes. Replaceable, yes.

Do you think we have better position coaches then him? imo he is the one guy I don't want to lose.

Tough to tell, without Chuck we don't know what Tim could do. Sometimes it is who you work with that matters most.

Why would Douast take a lateral position coach move to Pitt? Do people think narduzzii is going to hire a 1st timer to coordinate his defense? I'd be shocked if he did.

I don't think anyone thinks that Daoust would leave to be a DL coach at Pitt, but if he is offered a DC that's not a lateral move. Narduzzi was going to make Tressel, or the MSU db coach a first time DC, so I don't see why he would have a problem making Daoust a 1st time DC. They have a great relationship, and Daoust could be someone Narduzzi could mold, kind of like Marrone with Hackett. I think he's a pretty clear favorite to get the Pitt DC job.

There has been a lot of internet speculation that Syracuse defensive line coach Tim Daoust will be the pick for defensive coordinator. Per our checks, we don’t expect that to happen. While, I haven’t heard anything to rule out the possibility that he might be offered a position on the staff, the feel I got from checking with a few sources was that if it will be a coach from Syracuse, it more likely could be Syracuse defensive coordinator Chuck Bullough; but have also heard a few other names in contention and don’t know where those stand.

Lateral moves? Strange. Also, if true, depressing.

Depends on what sort of cash they are offering him.

It's no secret that cuse is on the skint side of coaching payrolls.

And for some more twitter tea leaves. Obviously this article states it's basically just reporting what was reported and other rumors, but there was this link inside the article... https://twitter.com/Sta7ic/status/550285904691355649

For context here is the entire article. http://www.cardiachill.com/2014/12/...-bullough-beck-daoust-treadwell-salem-bradley

Okay, if I'm Shafer, I would be pissed that my assistant coach is following and favoriting tweets from a rival, particularly tweets dealing with recruiting and coaching. Am I wrong?

Depends. I am going to assume Shafer knows how everything stands right now.

that's what I'm afraid of. If he's not pissed, then something is most likely going to happen and Shafer is okay with it.

When is this going to be resolved?
Would Daoust wait until after NLI day (Feb 5th?) to accept a job with Pitt?

Both MSU and Pitt have bowl games this week. Nardazzi is coaching in the MSU game. I would think that until both bowls have been played there can't be any review of current Pitt staff or interviewing of potential candidates.

Isn't that unusual that Narduzzi is coaching MSU for this bowl?
It's official that he's the next coach at Pitt. It seems like when these things happen and a coach is hired away, that coach isn't with the team for the bowl game.
The only example of what I'm talking about that I can think of is when Brian Kelly left Cincinnati for ND. He didn't coach UC in that year's bowl game.

Narduzzi wanted to coach his kids in that bowl game. That also makes me wonder if he has signed a contract with Pitt yet.

I 1000% agree-I'm not Shafer and I'm kind of ticked. Nice way to reward the guy who brought you from the DL guy in the MAC to the Assistant HC in the ACC.

Shafer is cool with Narduzzi too. I think he shouted him out on twitter when he got the job.

Just spoke with Pat Narduzzi. Hopes to have his #Pitt staff finalized by the end of next week.

Pat Narduzzi on people monitoring who he follows on Twitter: "Yeah, they're called friends." #Pitt

As he said a few days ago, Narduzzi plans to talk with current #Pitt staff before making any decisions w/ staff hiring.

I follow Sarah Michelle Gellar on Twitter.

We'll be hooking up by New Year's I'm sure.
People made fun of me in highschool for watching Buffy. They said I just watched it for Sara Michelle Gellar.

They were wrong. I watched it for Charisma Carpenter.

If Daoust goes to Pitt, can we say we got Nard-dogged?

According to Football Scoop FIU defensive coordinator Josh Conklin has agreed to become defensive coordinator at Pitt.
