Big Apples to Oranges to me. Both qb's have their pluses and minuses. I did see someone comment on the O-Line in 2010 and in 2013 and to be honest I'd think that having a more mobile qb like Hunt would have made the 2010 version better sack wise as well.
What to me is funny and I could be wrong but it seemed Nassib checked down too often and Hunt doesn't do it enough. It just may be the systems.
A lot of people seem to forget that Nassib threw the ball too hard too close too often and struggled with his touch. He got better reading defenses at the line as he got older and really struggled with the long ball and end zone corner touches. But, he could hit the spot hard and his outs were solid. His pocket presence got better as did his step ups in the pocket. But...that did take a while. You could see the potential of what he could do once he figured things out. Really focused on end of game drives, especially as got more experience.
Hunt...he looked like a point guard on that last drive. Awkward elusiveness but yet still effective in getting away from defenders and picking up yardage. Soft touch and decent arm strength. Learning to look off a receivers but still has to improve that. Catchable ball but not a real strong arm...solid though. Impressed with his soft tosses.
I like both players obviously and am very proud of what both have accomplished. I'll be very happy if Hunt is the qb from here on at SU and if one of the young bucks is even better and proves it on the field, I see this as being a win-win situation.
