Nate Hackett might be available soon

Somebody from the Jets better get Vick out of there if they plan on playing him again this year, guy is getting absolutely destroyed.

Agreed on the Houston game, should have won that game. Second half of the schedule is difficult, the GB and Denver games are sure losses. Need to take care of business against some of the other teams especially Miami and the Jets.

Yeah they next four games are huge. Kansas City, Miami, New York and Cleveland. I live in Kansas City so I see more of the Chiefs than I would ever want to. We'll need to play better on offense than we did today and not miss so many chances but I think they are beatable in the Ralph. Cleveland may be similar to us - better this year but you never know when bad Cleveland will show up like they did against Jacksonville last week. Division games are always tough but you're right - just can't lose either of those two.

If Buffalo blows this game (which as a Bills fan is looking more and more likely) hes going to need a security escort at the airport tonight.

Come on man.

They were playing the game in front of them.

36 offensive points on the road against a good defense.

He was atrocious though. That game should been 62 0 in the first quarter

Its the feeling from most Bills fans, personally I think the jury is still out on Hackett and I am willing to give it more time but a lot of Bills fans want him out bad.

And most fans are idiots.

You don't get this post?

I was driving back from Philadelphia this afternoon and pulled into a diner in my old home town in New Jersey. The Jets-Bills game is on television and I see the score is 24 to 14 Bills. Then I get home 20 minutes ago and pull up this thread started by JeremyCuse about Hackett being available. I figure the Bills must have stunk up the place after I quit watching. Then I see that Buffalo scored 43 points and won and it was Geno Smith who stunk up the place.

Yeah, this post has me all confused.

If you watched the game you would definitely understand the post. Check out any Bills site for more information.

Well some are absolutely but Hackett has given them a lot of ammunition unfortunately. He has to be less conservative especially in the first half. When Buffalo gets behind or in desperation mode the playbook opens up and Hackett does a much better job, needs that sense of urgency more. 7 straight drives without a first down including 5 that started in Jets territory isnt going to cut it. That said I am willing to be patient and let him continue to learn.

This was pretty much the New England game in reverse. Lopsided turnovers but somehow close at the half; 2nd half a bit of a thrashing.

+1 to the Hackett bashing. He just sucks.

Orton on the other hand is a professional QB, which is worth something. Without the Houston loss the EJ expirament would've continued another couple weeks at least, so I'm over that game myself.
I have no idea how KC is good. They've quietly been an elite team since their week 1 debacle.

Come on Jeremy , even Millhouse has eased up on the hammers. St. Doug The Redeemer has the Bills doing things they haven't done since , well a long time. Admit it he is a GREAT coach , and Hack is playing it the way the big guy wants it to be played.

Who said anything about Marrone? Did you even read the thread, I didnt hammer Hackett at all. No offense but if your going to pull the usual nonsense please don't due it in this thread.

As bills fans sing the praises of Kyle Orton (all of you are banned forever for ever even thinking a disparaging thought of Eli) and actually contemplate the firing of their OC who has this sad sack of a franchise at 5-3...Brady and the patsies dropped a nickel on da bears and shut everyone up who thought they were dead.

Guess they found a new way to cheat...

Just to clarify I never called for Hackett to be fired and actually defended him in this thread. Most Bills fans knew the Pats weren't done, I didnt think they would do a complete 180 that fast but man when Gronk is actually healthy they are really really good. Awesome that the Bills are 5-3 and good to see the Giants and Jets struggling. Francesca had some pretty daming stats about the Giants this week during his interview with Eli, a pretty good listen.

This comes across like a writer for the NYPost who writes an article but the editor puts a crazy headline, attention grabbing title to it...and they are backtracking their way through player confrontations in the locker room.

Except you wrote the header too.

Oh, the Giants aren't struggling, they're about to start rolling...

Hackett is not a popular man amongst the Bills fan base which is the point I think the header got across. Ive been disappointed with his conservative calls but I am not at the point of calling for his firing or even close to it to be honest. Not sure where the Giants are rolling to but with there upcoming schedule it probably isn't the win column.

We're talking about Eli & the Pats now?

Marrone is still awful

orton>manning>manning>manning

JeremyCuse might not be calling for Hackett's head but I sure as hell am. If that makes me a "stupid fan", I guess I am a stupid fan.

There is no excuse for 32 runs up the middle when the weakest part of your team is the interior of your o line and the strongest part of the opponents team is the interior of their d line. There is no excuse for run run pass on multiple consecutive series in the NFL. This is the freaking NFL not college football... no team has the talent advantage to run the same plays over and over and think that they will work. There is also no excuse for 7 straight drives of three and out no matter what the score of a game is and no matter what the situation. If this was just a one game trend I'd let it go but the the Bills offense has been atrocious all season long besides a drive here or there.

GoSU96... before you call me our for being a stupid fan, were you one of those who called for McD to be removed from his coordinator position? Why is this any different? The Bills O is just as dysfunctional as the Cuse O except it has true game breaking talent. The biggest thing holding the O back is a terrible oline (isn't a certain hc who claims sainthood also a former olineman) and an OC who is in over his head.

I think Marrone should go also... he is making all of the same dumbass mistakes that would have gotten him fired here if he hadn't run into a 6 game hot streak. But I will give Saint Doug the benefit of the doubt since the team is pulling wins out of their ass that they would have lost any other year in the last 15. Hackett better be on thin ice or I had better see a brand new offense in two weeks.

I think you lost an L somewhere along the line.

These guys that are in over their head have taken a journeyman QB with no preseason or first team practice time and after four games have him with the 6th best QB rating among starters, 6th most yards per game, a 3-1 record including two road wins.

His first three starts they threw 66% of the time. What, that's not enough for you?

Hackett was the opposite of good today. He's lucky our defense went ape**** on the Jets. Why does every play have to be a running play or a deep pass? Are we incapable of running quick routes? The amount of 3 and outs was absurd.

You said it about yourself, I did not call you that name, but I agree with you.

As Syracuse fans how would you describe Hackett's offense? His first offense in the pros was built the same way it was successful in Syracuse: up-tempo. However, he is on QB (Kolb, Manual, Lewis, Tuel, Orton) #5 in 1 1/2 seasons. The QB forced upon him to start season two couldn't handle the tempo so he was forced to slow it down. Is he just supposed to re-teach the whole offense with Orton in the middle of the season? Maybe he can in during the bye, but it is unlikely.

Besides having to prepare 5 different QBs during this time, he is also dealing with a sieve of an OL. With a questionable QB and their best players being RBs, they rely on the run game to be successful and set up the pass. Since Orton has shown an ability to make plays, they are throwing it much more, but Orton was still getting killed with sacks and turnovers. If they completely abandon the running game, allowing teams to just tee-off on the QB, they won't have a passing game either.

The man isn't perfect and at times may be conservative. But I think the head coach, score and personnel may dictate that more than he would like.
