If the Sixers did get him, it would be even odds whether he ended up in a trade.
Immediately after winning ROY.If the Sixers did get him, it would be even odds whether he ended up in a trade.
It turns out that he has the wingspan of a Pterodactyl. He played out of position for us at SF.
I didn't think he was efficient for us but he can get to the rim and can shoot.
It is obvious the kid is going solidly first round.
He has the prototype NBA SG measurables.
The funny thing is .. Mali's percentage went up in league play. He likes him the big moments!Richardson shot better from 3pt but Beal shot better from 2pt and the the line.

The universe has a plan for Syracuse players to wind up on the Timberwolves.
I would be stunned if that happened.
One Mr. J A Boeheim disagrees with you. He raved about Thompson's play on both ends of the court after coaching him on the USA World Championship team 2 years ago.I actually don't think Klay's D is that great... it's great in the context of what Golden State does but he's by no means a lockdown D guy. Great article on Klay on ESPN today... Klay Thompson dares you to underestimate him
The biggest concern I have about Mali is he doesn't seem to be the most explosive athlete out there so I do wonder how easily he can create his own shot against NBA defenders. He did pretty well against Brogdon so that was a good sign.

Look I think that would be a disastrous pick if he went that high but to catch your reaction would be just about priceless.

A league scout on Richardson's workout: "Phenomenal. It looked like last year's Porzingis workout. I'm hearing he's going in the Top 10."
I'll root like hell for him, but man, if my Bucks take him at 10, I will be so disappointed.

Yah he was streaky toward the end of the season then shot better (.367) in the tourney. Part of the shooting woes could have been that he played more 3 later (when Howard starting getting minutes) where he's against a bigger player.Kinda. He shot 32% from three in his last ten ACC games. He started out on fire in ACC games in January but cooled off considerably later in the year.

Please not Harden... That dude is a waste of talent. If you've been watching the playoffs, you wouldn't say that. Klay put in WORK against Harden, Lillard, and Westbrook. Look up Westbrook's shooting percentages. The Warriors play great team D, but Klay was physical and fundamentally sound. He doesn't get blocks or steals but he makes you take tough, tough shots.
Top 10, IMO is higher than I would have thought Mal would go, but if he does, good for him! I just hope he's super successful in the league--I don't think he's got anywhere near Klay Thompson potential, but it's a flattering comparison. I think Klay should be who he models his game after, although I could see a sort of James Harden lite as well. It's about time we got another star in the NBA beside Carmelo. Here's to Mal being the 2nd and Lydon being the 3rd.
Love Mal's potential. If the Knicks had a top 10 pick I'd have no problem with them taking him there. This kid is going to be one of the best NBA players we've put into the league in a while.
I'll be shocked if he goes top ten but I certainly will be stoked if it happens!
That would be great! I think its been covered already in this thread but Malachi is the type of player the league is moving toward. He can shoot, he can shoot off the dribble, he can slash, pass and handle. Add his size plus position (SG) and GM's have to be thinking about GST when they look at him.
