NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

Was pulling for the Celtics, but i thought this was absurd and I’m not quite sure Strus heel actually touched the sideline.

NBA is turning into the NFL with its officiating ridiculousness.
The playoff officiating has been so much worse than the regular season. I know intensity picks up and all that but yikes.

Feels like the inconsistency between crews, which happens in all sports, has been really exacerbated in the playoffs in the NBA.

I'm not sure if it's the speed of the game at this point with so much talent on the floor, the expanded geometry that needs to be covered, or something else...

What will be interesting is to see how the Finals are officiated with a team with as much movement as GSW does as part of their offense vs a team with such a rock solid defense (and incredible individual defenders) in Boston.

Interesting convo / topic:

What list of Top 30 would they be going off? I tend to oppose recency bias so I would say DWade, CPaul, The Admiral - older guys would be Maravich and Archibald (not that they make the Top 30), Karl Malone, KG. Such an individual taste thing, hard to pick.

Saw this video and wasn’t sure what sport it was. Look at how packed in the paint is.

Funny that it was a corner three which should be renamed the PJ Tucker.

Wasn’t a goaltend either. Was that Foster?

Scottie Pippen is tremendously overrated by a lot of younger fans. 137th in win shares per 48 and 138th in PER. He gets overhyped by Lebron stans.

Kobe and Iverson are probably the main two to me.

I'm with you on both those guys, especially AI.

AI I think is tremendously overrated.

Kobe, it's not that I don't think he was awesome, but I personally don't think he's a top 10 player of all time.

Who knows how valid this is but saw a thing on Twitter saying there are rumors of the NBA exploring expansion teams in Las Vegas and Seattle. Could be part of whenever they do a new media and broadcast deal.

Would be cool to bring back the Supersonics.
We definitely need the Sonics back in Seattle.

I saw Silver said that his preference is to keep the Blazers in Portland when the eventual sale goes down.

Phil Knight and one of the Dodgers part owners recently offered 2 billion for the Blazers, but they were told the team remains not for sale. Knight and company will stay aggressive... and in my opinion will get the deal when it is all said and done. Knight and Silver are pretty tight.

We are going to see how good Marcus Smart is defensively this series. So far he seems content giving Curry wide open looks.

I cannot believe Iggy basically took a sabbatical and showed up tonight to play, lol.

I know he was hurt... but still.

Hate when Tatum compounds a mistake with a dumb foul
