NCAA 1st Round Games for Fri March 21

That's exactly it (and basically the same point that CuseFan0307 made above).

In the pre-NIL, one and done era, it actually provided opportunities for mid majors to compete with more experienced teams, against less experienced majors.

Now in NIL, you actually get less players who leave after year 2 and year 3 just to get drafted in the 2nd round (or not get drafted at all) and stick around the NCAA for the money. They hang around for top teams and those same teams clip the top mid-tier players.
We also have an annual talent drain from the mid-majors, as those players funnel up to power conference teams.

We’re not going to see mid majors who have a bunch of above average guys who have been there 3-4 years. The best of them portal out.

Agreed. I was trying to make that point at the end of my post as well, but didn't state it very well.

Nice drive by Goodine. Have the game of your life son.

Has anybody heard JB doing any NCAA games on Westwood One? I didn't listen to any games yesterday and started listening today and have not heard him.

That OU player literally had the layup under the basket, and passed it out for ... an airball 3.

Oklahoma must have some stiff on the bench who can play the middle. They are fast and creating a bunch of stuff of the dribble drive, but UConn just getting a few to many easy baskets inside.

Robert Morris vs Alabama today

I must have been doing something else at the time for about 30 minutes or so. Didn't realize that game actually had Robert Morris take the lead with 7 minutes to go. It quickly fell apart for them, but them having the lead with 7 to go certainly meets the drama criteria.

I think Florida will take both of these teams out relatively easily. (I'll probably be quoting this post Sunday in anger)

Top conference so far in the first round is BIG.
They are 5-0. They could go 8-0 -- depends on the 6-11 and 5-12 game with Illinois and Oregon

The match-up everyone has been waiting for is now here. Brycen Goodine vs. UConn.

That was a great view of UConn's offense. Constant movement.

Goodine just fouled three different players on the same possession and wasn’t called for a single one.

This Xavier/Illinois game is really physical and getting ugly.
