That didn't age well.
That didn't age well.
I'm in four different pools. I ended up with four different national champions but not intentionally. It's how it worked out.Sheets of integrity…
Auto draft?I'm in four different pools. I ended up with four different national champions but not intentionally. It's how it worked out.
The better ACC teams did not get to play.Clemson loses to Morehead St. in the first round of the NIT.. UVA loses to Furman in the first round of The Tournament. Wow.. ACC not looking good.
2016 they lost to a 10 seedVirginia the last 5 postseasons
2018: lost to 16 seed
2019: champions
2021: lose to 13 seed
2022: NIT QF
2023: lose to 13 seed
NIT tournament should not count.Good luck for a program like Virginia finding a coach that over the next 14 years gets
Makes the tournament 10 years in a row.
Yeah, his seat was getting warm from a vocal portion of the fanbase that felt like tournament struggles negated the regular season success they were enjoying.
He has been the most overrated player in the country the last three years. Bennett's loyalty hurt him.Clarke’s pass will go down as the biggest bonehead play of the tournament. He thinks he’s the smartest player on the floor. Just hold the ball or make an easy pass to two wide open teammates. Virginia lacks a a difference maker on offense who can get his own shot. Virginia still had a timeout. Virginia just got better next year with Clarke graduating. He kills them on offense against good teams. Three potential missed free throws also hurt them. Clark acted like he was
afraid to get fouled.

If Huggy sticks around for awhile longer, he’ll have a chance to pass JB in wins.Greg Gumbel just gave a good reason why Boeheim should not have retired.
Now Bob Huggins is the winningest coach in D-1.
I wouldn’t call it hot, far worse than that.Hottest take of the century possibly but I'd move on from Bennett.
Agree. They accomplished magic this season with the talent that they had in my opinion. They were absolutely awful early on. This year they lacked an alpha dog and had no one to get them a basket when needed. That’s one of the reasons they had so many scoring droughts. But they did play defense and it won them a lot of close games even when their offense stunk.I agree.
Actually, IMO, I have always felt that UVA (Bennett) overachieves year in and year out in conference more than any P5 coach I can recall in recent memory.
I look at their roster (most years) and find myself dumbfounded how they keep winning at the clip they that they have in the ACC.
They often kinda suck in fast paced, hectic situations. They are becoming a boom or bust program
JB thinks Bennett is the best coach in college basketball, besides his buddy Mark Few. I hope Red emulates Few for roster building and Oats with his pace and space offensive approach and reliance on analytics.Virginia the last 5 postseasons

This is a pretty interesting list of the all-time winningest coaches in terms of winning percentage. Obviously that doesn’t tell the whole story as it doesn’t consider the level of competition. But Tony Bennett is pretty high up there. Was kind of surprised to see Mark Few up there at the top but then again he’s taken Gonzaga to great heights.JB thinks Bennett is the best coach in college basketball, besides his buddy Mark Few. Definite cakewalk to the elite 8, on paper.Bama is going to end up with a cakewalk to the Final Four
