That didn't age well.Bama could face round 2 and 3 matchups with WVU and UVA, two teams that can muck the game up and give the Tide some problems

Hottest take of the century possibly but I'd move on from Bennett.
Just an incomprehensible brain fart from literally the most experienced player in ACC history. He had a timeout. It was a REALLY dumb play.
He wins with talent that in a lot of years has been no better than ours. Their teams have typically lacked a guy who can get a bucket whenever he can outside of the Deandre Hunter years and are usually average athletes.Good luck for a program like Virginia finding a coach that over the next 14 years gets
1 national title
2 elite 8
4 sweet 16
Makes the tournament 10 years in a row.
Obviously the tourney performance is extremely underwhelming based on what Bennett has had his teams do in the regular season. But the final tourney results would almost certainly be less with another coach.
If your Virginia you accept the good with the bad.
You are Virginia - not a blue blood, or even near a 2nd tier program historically.

He struggles and is underwhelming in the tournament, but I can never call a coach that brough a national title to a middling P6 program like Virginia overrated.
Clarke has a timeout in his pocket and didn't call it. Anything would have been better than just throwing the ball up for grabs, even just standing there and letting the clock run until the ref called the 10 second violation with like 2 seconds left and you set up your defense. Bad bad judgment by a senior.Clarke’s pass will go down as the biggest bonehead play of the tournament. He thinks he’s the smartest player on the floor. Just hold the ball or make an easy pass to two wide open teammates. Virginia lacks a a difference maker on offense who can get his own shot. Virginia still had a timeout. Virginia just got better next year with Clarke graduating. He kills them on offense against good teams. Three potential missed free throws also hurt them. Clark acted like he was
afraid to get fouled.
Actually I think Dixon left on his own to go to his alma mater.UVA would be wise to check in with Pitt fans to see how well things have turned out for them since they get rid of a less accomplished Dixon for similar reasons.

Yeah, his seat was getting warm from a vocal portion of the fanbase that felt like tournament struggles negated the regular season success they were enjoying.IIRC, I don't think Pitt fought that hard to try to keep Dixon around because of those tourney failures.
He may have left on his own, but it felt somewhat mutual at the time
Sheets of integrity…I'm 0-2 in one bracket and 2-0 in another bracket.

agreed. Bennet is an excellent coach. The style they play will always invite close games so there will be some upsets. However, unbelievably successful and any program would be lucky to have himGood luck for a program like Virginia finding a coach that over the next 14 years gets

You’re giving him credit for a tournament that never existed?Correct - it was 8 years in a row (and I am including 2020), and 9 of 10. I included their NIT year incorrectly.
Still pretty darn good.
And my point still stands.
at best 8 if you assume they wouldve made it during the covid yearHe hasn’t taken them to the tournament 10 years in a row.
