NCAA 1st Round Games for Thurs March 20

Is there a reason that Syracuse doesn’t host any tournament games anymore ? Is it a hotel issue? Someone please fill me in. Now that I live back in cuse I would love to see some postseason bball lol

I remember I discussed this with someone a little while back so I saw this article.

We put in a bid but weren't selected and no reason was given. I imagine they should be opening up the process again soon.

Why is there such a lack of stardom/top level players in CBB lately? None of these teams impresses me. Even looking at recent NBA drafts, the first ten/fifteen players selected are guys who average like 13-18ppg. “Potential.”

Watching St J now and there aren’t any NBA guys on this top ten team. KaDary?

All of the teams look like 90s D2 teams. Am I crazy? There is so much money in the NBA, so it’s not like great athletes are choosing other sports.

Kadary has a low percentage chance to be a very late 2nd round pick but the latest consensus is that he will go undrafted. Donnie Freeman is considered to have a better chance of being drafted (#55). Neither of them are in ESPN’s mock draft two rounds of picks.

Yeah, KaDary is a very good college player, but I don’t see the outside shot or the motor to keep up with NBA guards.

Donnie is more of a question mark. Shouldn’t be drafted yet, as the foot injury and the defense and physicality concerns would suppress interest. He needs a Show Me season. He’s got skills but needs development.

Agree , he takes off too many plays for too many minutes in too many games besides being a pretty poor shooter, sadly for him. He has so much talent but he seems to put a cap on his own development. It’s too bad, he made just 2nd team big East and RJ Luis, his St John’s teammate is really not just St John’s best player but was named the Big East’s player of the year.

Donnie’s story reminds me of Chris McCollough‘s story. Hope he stays, develops further so he’s much more ready to stick when he does go to the NBA. His foot injury could sway his decision either way.

school has been told they will only be considered for the opening rounds which requires a lot of full service hotels. There are not that many in the area and a lot of the hotels don't want to bid because contrary to opinion here - it isn't great business for all of them.

I think Cuse wasn't interested until the Dome improvements and now they want back in.

Hotel issue? Sheraton or not, we still have the holy trifecta of hotels out at Carrier Circle!

Rodeway Inn, Days Inn, and Red Roof Inn. All within walking distance of each other and a Dennys/Taco Bell.

Most cities would KILL for that set up.

ACC sucks. And we cannot reverse the trend as B1G and SEC will get more and more money and put their football earned money to improve their basketball more. We really need to find a way to get into B1G.

I'm still amazed the snow job the B1G pulled the last 2 decades in attaining top 2 power league status. Mostly declining population states, only 2 nationally relevant football teams pre Pac 12 expansion in tOSU and Michigan and no hoops title since 2000.
