There are 32 teams left and only 6 non Power 5 schools left. Of those six you have Gonzaga (not a Cindy, future PAC team), St Marys (not a Cindy), Colorado State (MWC, future PAC team), New Mexico (MWC was better than ACC), Drake, and McNeese St (whose HC is already out the door).

Really Drake is the only potential Cinderella that people can get behind.

BTW New Mexico is a 10 seed, how the heck did they not put them in the 7v10 in St John's bracket?

Because Arkansas has Cal

Cal v Slick Rick round of 32

I think Arkansas wins

I think it is bad for TV where it was only possible for one of KU, Pitino, Calipari to make the Sweet 16. You should want all three to still be around.

The 1st round is already exiting and has 3-4 games going on at a time. For TV it didn't make sense to have KU vs Arkansas on Day 1.

So the Top 17 seeds all won. Only 3 of the Top 25 seeds did not win: Clemson (18), Memphis (20), Mizzou (23). Teams outside of the Top 38 that made the round of 32: McNeese State (49), Colorado State (48), Drake (44). So no teams outside the Top 50.

You think Cal vs Slick Rick is more desirable than a father facing off against his son?
It would of been cruel of the committee to do it but sure would of made for great TV.

I find it kinda funny that Marriott ads feature Elliot Cadeau (I know it's based on his ranking coming out of HS). But it feels so random considering how good is he so far in his career.

They may as well have just picked some random actor that looked like he could play hoops. Not sure 99.837% of people would notice if they did.

I thought the same yesterday. But then I remembered that they already played once earlier in this regular season.

And one of the underlying rules of bracketing is to avoid re-matches in the round of 32 wherever possible. So I assume that is the reason the matchup did not get set.

He obviously would have played a lot for us this year but unsurprisingly was very overrated by people here. Saw some posts that with him we win 20 games. Made me truly laugh.
Yes he’s an accept or reject the inconsistency over the randomness of some great energy plays. He has the tools but his judgement in trying to make spectacular win or fail plays must drive coaches crazy.

The tourney has been a snooze fest thus far

I have a feeling this is going to be a major unforeseen side effect of the NIL/Portal. Instead of these "underrated guys" at lower schools staying 4 years and then making magical runs in March they all transfer out before that happens.

The only way these teams have a chance is if they have a top-level coach. McNeese State - Drake - Colorado State etc. but at some point the talent will be too much for them as well but at least the coaching gives them a chance

Hopefully, the games get better as the tournament goes along as the teams become more evenly matched.

We might not have won 20 games even if we had 2003 Melo.

Need help in a lot of spots

I’ll add that not knowing the players on these teams hurts the viewing experience also. Yesterday as I was watching the games I was confused as to when such and such player went to a certain school.Used to be you were familiar with guys on certain teams but now you are saying to yourself I know that guy looks familiar but where do I know him from.
I don’t like it and get off my lawn!

This "Bracketville" halftime skit...is the worst thing I've seen on TV in awhile.

Well done, CBS.

Arkansas’s length and quickness is really bothering St. John’s. Having trouble finishing at the rim and once they get in the lane they’re getting smothered.

Going to come down to who’s fatigue gets to them first. The winner of this game will be happy that they don’t have to play again in 2 days because everyone will be extremely sore after this physical game.
