About a week ago I said that all the people heaping praise on Scheyer, and saying his endorsement of Gerry was meaningful, would call him a dumb idiot as soon as Duke lost.

Here we are! I guess Gerry out coaching him wasn’t all that impressive, since he sucks.

I call time out to ice the shooter but also to set up an inbounds play for the press if they make it. I tell the team whoever gets a missed shot rebound or the inbounds pass, just hold the ball and get fouled. Dont risk another pass. There's less than 10 seconds so if they dont foul, we win automatically. What was Duke thinking.

Only really good team UConn has played since December is St John’s. Lost 2 out of 3 to the Johnnies.

I don't understand the significance of 10secs. Do people think UConn would just stand there and not foul? If he covers he's got a 1&1 with ~6secs left and then what if he misses. Two wide open guys down court is the best option there, you just have to get it there.

I agree with you and I feel dirty saying this but uconn deserved it. Hurley willed his guys to hang in and win. Quite the program they have.

Seeing boozer quiet down and seeing his son screw up royally does bring happiness.

Obviously the significance of 10 seconds is that Duke couldn’t get a backcourt violation. They also had a time out.

Hucking the ball around was the stupidest thing they could do. Get it to your best FT shooter and let them foul you. Make both and the game is over.

The one thing you can’t do is turn the ball over on your side of the court.

up 2, guys panic all the time to avoid getting fouled. on top of that if they just throw the ball up in the air i doubt uconn could get it back and make a shot. All you can is not make a mid court turnover

I'm sorry but if there's 13secs left you're obviously not worried about a backcourt violation either because if the defense has 2 brain cells they're not letting it get to that point.

3 freshman touched the ball in that sequence and it looks to me with the way they played hot potato they didn't want that FT smoke.
