NCAA Elite Eight Games Thread for Sun Mar 29

I really don't think he was complaining about what had just transpired. Referees are entitled to use a little common sense.
Silly stuff.

Whether he was complaining doesn’t have anything to do with it. He was obviously excited. That doesn’t/shouldn’t allow you to get in a ref’s face like that. It’s supposed to be an instant tech if he made contact.

Left his feet to pass too, which you should never do. Amazing game, but I hate how UCONNs overstuffed championship trophy shelf is filled w these kinds of easy paths & improbable wins.

I used to feel this way, too, Swish, but they've done it so many times now, it's way past calling them lucky.

Tom Izzo should have won as many titles as UConn with how they play the game, and how they've been right there in the Sweet 16 or better year after year after year.

UConn has taken advantage of its opportunities better than anybody not named Wooden.

If UConn wins it all (just threw up in my mouth), it’s crazy how extraordinarily unlikely plays can be part of a teams title run that had like a 99% chance of not happening.

Random example: 1997 Nebraska. People just casually remember them as the champs that year, but they won at Missouri on an absolutely freakish 1 in a million play where a pass that would have been incomplete bounced up off a players foot and then another player dove and caught it.

There are many other examples like this. Sports are so incredibly random.

I hate that you're making me respond with Seth Davis.

If they are friends that’s a whole separate ball of wax but it’s also two very similar personalities clashing in this moment too friends or not. Two weird dudes doesn’t warrant a T…. But it’s definitely not a situation where a known friendship should be allowed to co exist in a huge game like this no matter how many years Ayers has been doing it.

Also in regard to Hurley- some of the most talented and smartest people in whatever field they do quite often come with eccentricities that are off putting. Hurley is a grown man and great coach who wants to be more like Devo from the 6OT game than Devo wants to be that guy anymore.
