NCAA Final Four Games for Sat April 5

Guess I'm just numb to bad CBB ref'ing by now. I thought they let a lot go both ways early in the first game but didn't see it as particularly one-sided until the last minute or so. Usually the trailing team is going to get most of the 50/50 calls at the end which happened to be Auburn & Houston. The Flagg call was weak but oh well. Do you even want that call if you're Houston with a 60 FT guy taking a 1and1? It's probably pretty close.
Yeah rooting for Houston I didn't want that foul. Roberts shoots line drive FTs. Can see why he is 62% from the line.

i watched a bit of the FLA/AUBURN game. alijah martin...MONSTER dunker.

What should Maliq Brown do this morning? Should he seriously consider a transfer if Duke can’t make him a starter? Does he have an NBA future? He’s a glue guy, but he can also score if you give him the green light.

I think Flagg had 19 in the second half. The kid was tremendous. His coach and teammates burned up in the spotlight but Flagg is and was tremendous.
I’m not ripping on Flagg at all, sorry I gave that impression. I was wrong and thought I heard he had 22 in the first half instead of 8. I do think he was tired. He played over 30 minutes this year 13 times in 32 games through the ACC tournament. In the NCAA tournament he played 22, 29 minutes then 37,36 and 36 the last 3 games. He did this well despite only taking 9 fga against Houston but Duke needed to rely on him and Kneuppel much more because the center position had just 10 points and 3 rebounds, the 2 guards adding only 14 points with just 2 assists. Other than MaliQ they really got nothing from their bench too. Houston’s much older, more experienced team wore them down, and were more physical and quicker. J’wan Roberts a 6’8” forward grad student, had 12 rebounds. Houston out rebounded Duke by 11 despite Houston starters not having a player over 6’8”. Houston didn’t get much from their bench either.

There is simply no excuse for not being able to inbound the ball, especially after taking a time out because you couldn't get it in the first time. That's on the coach. I think Scheyer wins a Natty eventually but he was not ready for the moment last night.

Not a fan of either coach tomorrow.

Florida was struggling to inbound the ball too. It's a problem in college basketball.

Proctor had a chance to pass the ball to Flagg before he was fouled. Big difference in foul shooting. 85% compared to 60%. Proctor was brutal the entire game.

Good point. I was rooting pretty strongly for Houston for my bracket and because I hate Duke. At the time I was annoyed when they called that foul on Flagg knowing Roberts was an iffy FT shooter and it being a 1 and 1. Would’ve preferred Houston just have possession. Roberts showed some pretty big stones knocking those both down.

One of the few Duke team's I didn't mind their players as well. Actually liked most of them which is not usual. Not like they had a bunch of Graysons out there.

Their fanbase and program overall though I do hate. They think they deserve to just win because they have a blue Duke jersey. An entire fanbase that worships them but would never be allowed to even set foot on campus or can afford to go to a game. I have met countless Duke fans that throw on their Duke jersey or hat one week a year. Reading the post about how 99.9% of people bet on Duke says it all.
So, because my husband got some degrees at Duke and I got a masters at Carolina, we “grew up” in our twenties and early thirties living in the heart of ACC land. And we rooted for Duke AND Carolina. The friends we have who are still Duke fans either went to Duke or lived and still live in Durham. Our friends are true Duke fans, not the bandwagon fans. And yes, people hate Duke and I don’t. Sue me. Have I been annoyed and aggravated by them over the years? Sure. “God bless America.” Beating Duke the first time they came to the Dome was one of my all time highs.

I liked this particular Duke team and I really like Scheyer. So much better than K.

The worst Duke FT shooter on the floor saying "I got this" was wild.
