NCAA Final Four Games for Sat April 5

This was absolutely stunning in a Tyson vs. Douglas type of way, not that Houston was such a huge underdog, but I just can’t believe what I just watched. What will be lost in this obviously is how well Maliq Brown played. He made his choice to go to Duke, which I don’t blame him for, but I also will not feel sorry for him, but he is such a terrific college basketball player. Played his ass off.

What a great week we have had on this board. I guess we know who the best freshman of all time is still.

Go to their fan pages and game threads right now and see what they’re saying about him. Hot seat was your word. I said he may not be this safe coach that will be at Duke for 20 years.
You said his seat wasn't as safe as people thought. Sounds kinda hot to me, which is just downright goofy. Guy did a great job this year.

K had not won a title since 2015. Doubt he would have done any better.

And since a few are blaming this one on the refs, let's talk about how the refs jobbed Wisconsin in the 2015 final

I am actually shocked they put James back in the game after he hit his head. He wasn’t normal. 2 horrible turnovers. Literally couldn’t pass the ball in bounds. He def didn’t look right

From the look in his eyes when he first sat up under the basket you could tell he shouldn't go back in.

Proctor really hurt the Dukies tonight. Missed foul shots and a horrible turnover going nowhere with the dribble. He missed wide open threes tonight. Houston for the most part took the lob dunk away from Duke. Duke looked a little soft down the stretch.
Proctor was the Cam Reddish of this team.

Did he? Ask their fanbase. They have generational talented team this year.

Blowing through a garbage ACC this year and losing in the final 4 as 5 point favorites isn’t exactly what people will remember. Especially after losing last year by 12 to NC State in the elite 8.

I don’t care just saying.

I was shocked that Duke left the big guy in on that last play when you’re down three. Evan’s never saw the floor tonight and the backup center played about two minutes.

Who cares what Duke's fan base thinks? His seat is nowhere near hot and if it was then I'm sure we'd welcome him to CNY.

At the time, I didn’t really take notice to how James played when he returned. But I remember seeing him back in the game and thinking “he probably shouldn’t be playing right now.”

Ok. Well usually people care about the opinion of the fanbase of the team imploding. They have different expectations for results there especially when they’re giving out blank checks.

Duke sharting themselves is great. They bankrolled, what has been reported at, $20 million for this team, and dont make the championship game. I love it. One of the only lasting beauties of college basketball is that anyone can still create an upset, and anyone in theory can still win a title because its always a 1 game situation. Let the Duke booster feel the pain, their NIL donations ment nothing in the greater scheme of things this year. Maybe that make me petty, but that gives me joy and solace in this new wold of college basketball

Duke just couldn’t find the energy nor focus to put Houston away when they had the chance to do it for so long in the latter second half. I give credit to Houston to keep fighting and playing hard despite mistakes , technical etc - they just wouldn’t give up. Flagg only had 5 points I think in the second half - they needed someone else to step up instead of assuming Flagg was going to be the hero. Maluach had 0 rebounds and 6 points, Proctor had 7 points and 2 assists. Lots of brackets killed I imagine.
I think Flagg had 19 in the second half. The kid was tremendous. His coach and teammates burned up in the spotlight but Flagg is and was tremendous.

Gotta root for the Gators now. Sampson doesn’t deserve a Natty.
100% agree. I’ll never forget him purposefully sending that ogre in to try taking out Melo because he and his team were dumbfounded by the zone. Also, his comments after the game last night about the ACC being a Toy Poodle League is bush league. Screw him.

Dukes guards last night were bad. Proctor and James played poorly. James missed at least three point layups. He did make a couple in the second half. Proctor was invisible. No Evans last night. When you make one basket in the final ten minutes, you might want to play a shooter like Evans. I thought they did very little in the second half to get Kneepple (sp.?) the ball. Duke has been in very few close games this year and it showed. Scheyer is so used to blow outs he’s not very good in situational basketball. Their inbounding sets last night were amateurish. The more guys you bring to the ball the more crowded it gets. Duke also played soft. They couldn’t get a tough rebound to save themselves. Duke recruits like hell, but once again grown men will beat freshman up and Houston did. It’s not a recipe for success having to rely on freshmen.

By the way, there's nothing better than seeing completely unathletic, dipshit Duke fans in tears after their team chokes yet again
