NCAA Sweet Sixteen Games for Thurs March 23

Conference USA has
- Potential Elite 8 Team - Florida Atlantic
- Two teams in the NIT FInal Four - North Texas + UAB

But HRK told me that Florida Atlantic would not have deserved an at-large (if they lost in their conference tourney) since they did not go 20-0 in Conference USA, and that losses to North Texas and UAB were bad losses, and that those two teams could not win 6 games in the ACC.

Sometimes its not only about the name (and league) on your jersey.

Tier 2 program.

12 Sweet 16's in the last 12 tournaments
2 National Final Games in the last 6 tournaments
4 Elite 8's in the last 8 tournaments

Sure looks like Tier 2.

But they only win games because they are in a bad conference.
And oh yes the Clemson loss at Louisville is not a bad loss right - because its an ACC game.
Do I have it all right?

Sounds like Tier 2.
I don’t see any titles in there.

I sick of Gonzaga and Timme. I rooted for them the year they had that dominant team with Suggs and played Baylor, but Timme annoys me now. Pulling for UCLA in this one. I really love watching Jaquez play. They create turnovers like we used to.

And they don’t have 12 straight Sweet Sixteens.

Right its 8 sweet 16's in a row. College basketball reference had them in the "Lost in Third Round" in 2011-2014, when the NCAA tournament stupidly referred to the round of 32 as the third round. Thank god they got rid of that stupidity. Its almost as silly as someone justifying a loss at Louisville as just an ACC conference game and not a bad game.

So 8 Sweet 16's in a row
4 Elite 8's in that period
and 2 title games.

But no titles - so they are "Tier 2"

No titles, so they are NOT Tier 2.

BTW, in the 10 games they won to reach two title games, the best team they beat was 4-seed West Virginia.

You were taking a jab at them. I called you out on it.

If Tier 2 is the group below the blue bloods (at least in modern times), then fine that is where they are at. And they have outperformed Duke and Kentucky since 2015.
If your best take is exaggeration, maybe sit this one out. They are not a Tier 2 program. Obviously doesn’t mean they suck.
