NCAA Tourney Round 1, Day 1 Thread

Not really. Basically an inch over the Yale frontline position by position. Sears and Reynolds plays bigger than their size also. Baylor has better athletes but Yale plays good position D and they rebound. In general I'm impressed with the Yale athleticism.
The thing that surprised me about Yale was the FT percentages. Except for Mason, who was money, the rest of them were 54-65% FT shooters. I'd expect better FT shooting from a team like that. Maybe I'm guilty of "profiling", but that isn't good at any level. But they got it done .

Yale Duke is going to be the worst reffing experience ever

I don't know about that. I'd wager Yale has more 1% alums than Duke who could sway the refs.

Was that Yale defender completely insane at the end? He almost made body contact with the shooter down 4 like 50 feet from the basket.

thought the same thing

Since Yale does rebound and have some bigs who play bigger than their heights they could beat Duke. If they can hang with the Baylor athletes they can hang with Duke's.

Have to disagree, Duke lucks out again. Cakewalk to Sweet 16. Duke will kill them from the FT Line, both in attempts and %. Duke can't rebound but Yale's no real bigs either

Anyone see that flagrant one in the Purdue game? Hahahah

What a joke of a call.

They're also in the bracket with the worst #1 seed.

Purdue vs. Arkansas Little Rock getting interesting

Purdue took the air out of the ball a bit prematurely and it has killed them

this Soshi dude on Little Rock is one of those dudes who you wish we had

man, anything but OT, i had Little rock +11.5...anything but OT:eek::eek:

Purdue is trying to give this game away.

several opportunities where they could have had uncontested layups and chose to pull it out. the auto two points is worth more than the time saved until you get below 30 seconds.

stall ball combined with no fouling UALR before they can shoot the 3

why no free throws on that purdue foul? dude loses the ball, pushes the guy, john cahil calls player control foul, no shots. What?

This is one of the worst collapses I've ever seen. It looks like they forgot how to play basketball completely.

they are completely stymied. this is what happens to the higher seed at times when they are being pressed by a big dog. deer in headlights

GRRR. why do teams always do this? they stop doing what got them in positions to win. LR gets back in the game with pressure D and pushing the ball. Now they get a lead and go stall ball and cant get a decent shot. coach's just need to let the players play
