ND-FSU game

Yes. we lost by moderate scores to two top ten teams and gained enough yardage to have made those games even closer than they were, (423 and 412). We just didn't take advantage of our opportunities.
Oh come on swc. I love u man but we were pillow fighters

Correct call.

Ive watched football for more years than you could imagine. That Hockey reference is un needed and immature buddy.

If you don't think that is a correct call maybe you should watch more football.

the refs in our game should look at that as an example of an illegal pic and compare it to the one they called on us.

I don't understand how some of you can stick up for Boeheim and then attack Jimbo Fisher in this context. I like both, I think they're both class act, caring coaches who are father figures for their players. What do you want from him and if you root for Syracuse Basketball, its kind of a throwing stones in glass houses situation.

Actually I do generally like Jimbo. My original post was intended to be a little joke and I don't want it to turn into something silly.

Did you see the replay? That wasn't just a pick, that was blocking. Easiest call ever.
Again it's the same play every team runs 100 times a game. Nd ran it to well I'd agree.

We fought them with pillows (with nothing). Those games were not close or memorable.

They weren't 3-59. I didn't say they were close or even memorable. We didn't get our doors blown off. The yards in those games were 429-523 and 412-482. That tells you how the games went physically. We lost by 16 and 18, respectively, (which in this era isn't bad for an unranked team vs. a top five team) because of lost opportunities. if we'd taken full advantage of them, we would have thrown a scare into either team.

True. We didn't lose by 50. But neither was that great. I mean nd gave us the ball...what...5 times and we still lost by 16. I get your point though

You cannot call a pick when the defensive back initiates contact and is holding the receivers shoulders the whole time. Should have been a no call.

I respect your opinion, but if you re watch it that wasn't the case.

Don't tell these guys...they know football.

Honestly tell me how you can call a pick when the guy being picked isn't guarding the guy who caught the ball. Robinson was being guarded by 26 who was protecting the slant inside. When Robinson goes outside 26 is blown out of the play. Procise is being guarded by 8 who jams him at the line. After Robinson catches the ball 8 looks back at 26 as if to say "where the hell were you". The ref, thinking that 8 is asking for a penalty, throws the flag on ND number 7. Fowler had it right. Everyone is talking about ND number 20 Procise, but that's because Herbie got it wrong.

I took your advice and re watched the play over and over again. And the ref clearly calls the penalty on number 7 (Fuller) NOT number 20 (Procise). Number 7 did nothing more than a normal rub slant on a defender that was guarding HIM. So all this analysis about whether number 20 was blocking or not is mute as the penalty was on number 7 who rubbed the man guarding him. Number 26 for FSU was the one guarding Robinson and he took himself out of the play immediately when Robinson went outside.
