We led in this stat 12 times and were 6-6 in those games. We were 17-8 when we lost this stat. That means it didn’t make much difference, overall, how the refs were calling the game. That’s a good thing. Still, there were a couple games….

We won this stat 23 times and were 16-7 in those games. We were 7-7 when we lost this stat. We got to the foul line better than the opposition because we were making more drives and taking fewer jump shots. But we didn’t seem to get the calls in the post season losses that we normally got.

Combined
(This year's difference - without the decimals- plus last year'a difference. I didn’t do Scoring Efficiency, Fast Break Percentage or Last Possessions last year and didn’t do Points in the Paint/Times Fouled this year).

Unsettled Situations 497 + 609 = 1106
Manufactured Possessions 600 + 444 = 1044
Starter Scoring 226 + 774 = 1000
Points off Turnovers 583 + 365 = 948
Two Point FG Percetnage 485 + 460 = 945
Fast Break Points 458 + 480 = 938
Points per Takeaway 426 + 506 = 932
Three Point Field Goal Percentage 265 + 647 = 912
Points in the Paint 514 + 358 = 872
Effective Offensive Rebounding 374 + 288 = 662
Points Outside the Paint 76 + 574 = 650
Rebounding 394 + 216 = 610
2 Point Attempts/Times Fouled -180 + 656 = 476
First Chance Points 19 + 404 = 423
Free Throw Attempts/Times Fouled 196 + 157 = 383
Assist Percentage -245 + 621 = 376
Points off Treys -29 + 375 = 346
Free Throw Percentage 150 + 135 = 285
Second Chance Points 334-88 = 246
Twilight Zone 13 + 200 = 213
Unforced Turnovers 243 – 34 = 209
Bench Scoring 114 – 8 = +106

Starter Scoring is obviously vital to a team that doesn’t play the bench much. But the other stats at the top of this list are more universal: you need to go get the ball, make a good percentage of your shots closer to the basket and take advantage of situations where the defense might not be properly set up yet.
