Never Considered Benching Hunt?

I am a SU fan in Dallas. Watching the offense on Friday was a joke. SU needs to bench both Hunt and the OC

people say we have nothing better at QB but my question is can it really get worse? I am in favor of benching Hunt because I already know they will start him next year as a senior and that is another wasted season. Bench him now and you don't have to start him next year.

Says a lot about the other QB's on the bench, doesn't it.

i have to believe there is NO CHANCE that is true. Hunt is an awful awful passer. he can run great with the ball. My guess is that his running is by far the biggest factor in the decision.

if it isn't by far the biggest decision than everyone on up to President Obama should be fired and possibly hung for stupidity.

I'm not sure i fully trust the staffs ability to judge what they see in practice. Not after Norton starting at kicker and Drew Allen starting at QB.

Every post I see on Hunt fails to account for two things:

1. ND and Louisville's D are top 25. They have made a lot of QB's look horrible. (Who left on the schedule is as good as those teams on D? FSU potentially - but they haven't looked good. Clemson for sure. That's it.)

2. None of the other QB's are ready.

For whatever reason , the progress in practice has not translated to the field , yet. This isn't unusual . I'm sure many of you play golf and work on new swings and shots on the range and feel you got them mastered only to get out on the course on not be able to employ it at all. Or be hitting the ball great and making solid contact but still not be able to put up good scores. I think it's like that with this offense . They haven't got to the point where they are feeling it. 18 games with a new system is not enough time and experience to make any decision to make some momentous change .

I think that is a good analogy. When under pressure there is a tendency to revert to the old swing and I think that happens in every sport. It is a constant battle. Greg Norman is the best gold example. He would have won the Open at Winged Foot and certainly the Masters had it not been for that blocked right mid-iron shot that always showed up at the wrong time.

Hunt seems to lose his fundamentals and revert to old habits when under pressure.

It happens in all sports and music and theater. There is one old adage that applies , " Practice Makes Perfect".

Perfect practice makes perfect. Practice just makes you tired.

Hunt just looks like he can lead a sustained drive for a TD. Five games in and one TD pass is amazing for the Georgia Tech QB has seven TD passes on a quarter of the passes Hunt has throw. Army has even thrown more TD passes than SU.
