New Dream Job for Marrone?

I know Nunes was kept away for trying to sell MLM / pyramid schemes. Why were some of the other alumni given the cold shoulder?
Many head coaches don't want any interference or unwanted suggestions. Dino was apparently that way as well. They certainly don't want to spend the time Coach Fran does. It's a big time commitment and takes a certain personality.

I think Doug was the best pure football coach we have had from an X's and O's perspective since P & D and I don't even think it's very close at all. His personality wasn't for everyone but Doug was also liked by plenty of people close to the program and the community. He's a much better dude than he gets credit for. He just hates the media and a lot of the other crap that goes with the job and I am not saying that that's not on him because it is. He definitely was tough when dealing with a lot of people but like I said a much better dude than he gets credit for on a personal level.

He didn't get along with Gross, didn't want to work for a new owner in Buffalo and thought he could get the Jets job, hates the media (part of the job I know) but is what it is. I also think he underestimated the condition the program was in when he took over from GROB

pretty spot on. he's also still very supportive of the program and a loyal alum. if he had never said the dream job stuff, we'd have a statue built for him. i can never say anything negative about the job he did given what he inherited. It was the worst major program in the country. I was annoyed when he left but the job he did was phenomenal at the time. There's no way he's cut out for the current environment but he's a great X's and O's coach.

Do saints dream?

Hmmm...mind blown
No that came from some woe is me interview he did and he called himself a saint for what he had to put up with in dealing with Gross and Cantor. Not saying he's necessarily wrong.

I feel the need to reiterate. I like Doug Marrone. Dream Job Marrone, or Dougie Dream Job, is a term of endearment

Thrilled about this hire as a Pats fan. We've needed a good OL coach for a long time. Doug is a perfect fit.

For years, the Pats had the best OLine coach.
