(This is not meant as a slight or "dis" to any current players, future players, their families or friends. It is strictly for fun.)

Let's imaging college basketball has a trading deadline. You are GM of SU. What trade do you make. It must be a win-win for both teams. (i.e. You can't trade for Thomas Robinson or Anthony Davis, as both those teams have realistic title hopes and would not give up their stars.) I don't watch as much bball as I used to, so I am staying in the BE with my choice. Also, you must give both teams rationale for the deal.

Here is my proposal: I would offer Southerland and Christmas for Kevin Jones. If I had to, I would also give up one of either MCW or Cooney, but not both.

SU rationale - solves our most immediate concern - rebounding. Saves us 4-6 points by preventing offensive rebounds, plus he scores more than the other 3 combined. Can score, but doesn't need to dominate the the ball to score or be happy. Hard defender, would bring some attitude to SU. Giving up all four players would be too much, as we would not have a competitive backcourt next year. However, you have to give up great potential to get a great player. SU sacrifices the future to win it all this year.

WVU rationale - they are losing a free agent who will not resign (no eligibility) They get a rotation guy in Southerland, as well as two potential stars and likely starters while they are at WVU. They build for the future as they have no real title aspirations this year.

(2nd choice is Herb Pope, but I would not give up as much as I think he might hinder Melo a bit, and he is not as versital as KJ.)

No way I include MCW to go along with Dirty and Rak

What!! Of course you would.
I suppose I haven't watched enough of Sully to see his defensive work, but this team thrives off of the things Fab does defensively. That's what led to my initial reaction. Would I love a big man we can throw it to in the post every possession? Absolutely. But I prefer Fab as a legit 7 foot defensive force.

C'mon guys. The Sullinger and Henson posts don't really fit the parameters. Make SU better this year, to try to secure a title. Make your trade partner better for the future.

I love the Dirty/Rak for KJones trade... anyway we can make this happen? I'd take one championship now and gladly give up Southy's senior year and Xmas's career.

No way... not even a little bit. At this point I wouldn't trade Fab for anybody. I think he has become the most dominant true center in college basketball this year.

I would trade Fair and Triche for Thomas Robinson. I think thats fair. I would also trade James and Keita for English (Mizzoi needs size).

Would you trade Fab and Keita for Sullinger?

Not me. Fab is playing much better than people realize. Sullinger tends to pout and complain to refs a lot and I don't think he would do that well in the middle of the zone.

Fab will take care of Sullinger and if his progress continues, he will be picked ahead of him.

The rights to Mookie Jones to St John Fisher for three sideline passes to Bills training camp.

I trade RAK, rights to Mookie Jones, and JS to Creighton for their stud

solves shooting woes and adds a legit shooting option for us

Gives Creighton a McD's All American PF who we all agree is at least a 3 year college player , Mookie if he chooses to return, and a senior shooter and uber-athlete who can light up the Missouri Valley

I do like the entire team but I would go right after three point shooting and rebounding.

Doug McDermott for KJo and Cooney

James and Brandon Reese who as we know, can play for every other team in the country according to some here, for a pair of functioning hands for Baye.

I'm at a loss for words. Maybe I'm overrating Sullinger.

Probably a bit. Sullinger vs MSU is a great example. 17 points 16 boards is nice... 5-15 shooting and a triple double including 10 TO's not as much.

Sullinger beats up on cupcakes but struggles to hit 50% of his shots vs defense's with a pulse. Plus averaging 3 of 4 PF's called on him at OSU means he would be fouled out by Higgins or Burr everytime they saw him if he was in an SU uni.

K-JO would be hard trade bait, as he is senior himself, its why I gave them RAK as he has 3 solid years to give them a big prescence in an underwhelmingly deep conference.

and Cooney I dunno, he has never played a D1 game yet, but man don't you just get the feeling he is gonna have a mcnamara-esque career? I do I just feel like he is gonna be one of those incredible 4 year contributors who can keep you in any game at any time with his shooting
