From East HS in Rochester. Nicodemus Gambill 6-2 190 Athlete 2013

The 6-2, 193lb RB says he has plans to begin the next phase of his football career by visiting a few schools during indoor track season. "I already visited The University of Buffalo last week, it was fun and I got a chance to see Marcus McGill (Gates-Chili)." "But there are a few other schools I would like to visit like Ohio State, Rutgers, UAlbany, UMass, Syracuse, West Liberty and maybe Old Dominion, because they've all shown strong interest in me lately" says Gambill. "Syracuse RB Coach Tyrone Wheatley says they really want me, but I have to wait and see what happens in the next 30-60 days since I'm a late bloomer." "Even though it seems like more colleges are reaching out now, I am also considering Prep Schools and have talked to coaches at Milford Academy as well," explains Gambill.

Great find, Phat. I don't know how you do it, but keep them coming.

NG looks like a solid prospect with great speed (laser timed). I like the idea of offering him simply to make inroads in Western NY.

Wonder if he transitions to DB...

I'd like to see us finally suit up a big bad azz safety in the size mold of TBuck, Darius, or Harris. Enough with the either smurfy or light weight safeties.

Somebody beat me to it...I found it on another team's message board.

I wonder if his mother named him while she was attempting to quit smoking?
Or maybe he was born at night (John 3:2).

My mother had a cat named Nicodemus. Nicodemus was allegedly wise and curious so she figured it fit the cat. I liked that cat.

Good stuff. Hard to judge on the defensive side without seeing him playing but by his Build I can definitely see S,LB and on offense WR.

Not to get Biblical but...
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" was spoken by Jesus Christ to Nicodemus.
Tell that to twenty innocents and their families Hats off to anyone who believes that "stuff".

Doug needs to bring in more speed to the roster and depth chardt. At this time its only fair at best.Even if Laray comes its not that impressive overall.

I knew it was a biblical name...but as part of the aging SU fan base, I couldn't remember from where. :noidea:

Yes, that was a necessary comment that had nothing to do with the quote... We were looking at the etymology of his name, not preaching god's word to the pagans. Jesus Cali.

Not the place to denounce religion because you think it's "stuff".

The last few days or so, I've come to realize that there really isn't much of value I can add here anymore. Almost every freakin thread degenerates into total bs.

I was just playing around. No ill will intended.

Wow, he is really a late arrival on the recruiting scene. He has excellent size and impressive speed. Looks like he has good grades. Might be worth taking...with an eye towards perhaps making him into a safety down the road (given the full stable of RBs SU currently has).

Ok fellas Nicodemus is a late bloomer. He was the #2 back as jr. So he didnt get the amount of touches needed to make a impact. Wheatley knew about him last year. He was just waiting to see how he did this year. Nicodemus is a really nice hard working kid. Has a great frame at 6'2. Eric Dickerson running style. Only going to get better. He didnt really hit the weights because of his basketball and track schedule. Presently doing indoor track. He is one of the fastest guys in the state. 2nd fastest at the NYS combine last june. His 4x1 team went to states last year. He had a big senior in football as expected. Getting alot of interest from schools now. Have to get his SAT score up. He just recently took the ACT. and will retake the SAT in January. Colleges are waiting to see the results. Wheatley Likes him but he loves his teammate Justin Noye (2014)

Money - does he play defense, or is he purely a RB at this point? also, can he catch the ball? was he used in the passing game at all?
