New Rivalry Jerseys

I thought it was KY we lost to. I am not opposed to wearing them beacuse it would be bad luck; I'm opposed to wearing them because we're the Orange. White jerseys or orange jerseys. I don't really need to see blue.

I'm 99% sure it was Notre Dame the last time we wore blue.

Lost to Kentucky in 1988.

Lost to ND in 2008.

We also wore "throwback jerseys" against ND in 2004 and lost.

I have noticed several games lately where the home team is in dark and the road team is in home whites. I have been wondering about that. If that is related to some nike rivalry uniform thing then the blue ones are very possible for a home game. I personally love the blue ones and hope we wear them. How amazing is it that after years of "duct tape" shots by our fanbase, there are lots of calls for a silver uniform!!

Home team decides what color they want to wear ... and tells the visiting team in advance (so they bring the right jerseys). Just like in pro football where Dallas always wears white at home (and visiting teams know to bring their "home" unies).

I like the dark blues, but hate everything grey in all of our jerseys...the blues should be trimmed in orange/white/white/orange...the whites trimmed in orange/blue/blue/orange...the orange trimmed in white/blue/blue/white...no grey whatsoever.

I think the blue jerseys are kind of hot. People really don't want to ever wear them again because we lost @ND in a year where they were clearly better than us - like we never lost as road dogs wearing orange? :crazy:

We've lost every freaking time we have put the blue jerseys on, not just against ND. The blues have been bad for us going on 30+ years, I think. I still remember losing at Rupp Arena in those things. They looked cool, but no one ever wanted to see them again after that blowout.

Why on earth did they roll out a blue alternate jersey for a game at Rupp? There wasn't going to be enough blue there to start with? Based on little comments attributed to him I think JB really is superstitious about the blue ones and doesn't like them either. Although I'm sure he would poo-poo any question about as "I couldn't even tell you what our uniforms look like, it doesn't matter."

Maybe these alternates will be black? Nike has been phasing the blue out of our color scheme for a while - it wouldn't make sense to then bring out an entirely blue uniform.

Many people never saw the game at Notre Dame where we wore the Blue Jerseys because CBS screwed up the national feed. DirecTV was supposed to have an alternate feed (opposite whatever national game was on), but somebody was asleep at the switch and forgot to put the game on.

We were a 7 point favorite in 2004 when we wore the throwbacks against ND. We lost by 12.

Don't even get me started on the LAX debacle against Maryland.

If we are the damn Orange our football jerseys should be predominantly ORANGE. I am sick of the blue crap and the fact we can't even develop a good looking Orange jersey when Clemson, Illinois and Miami do really ticks me off. If we wore the blue basketball ones this year we would most likely win.

Spot-on. Boeheim's actually rather superstitious and hates the blue (and it's no coincidence that we haven't seen the retro ones since that 2004 game, either).

Someone else gets credit for it, but it'd be hilarious if we busted out the original pink-and-greens. We could rename our trunk monkey press "the Panic of 1877."

Lost 58-62 in 1988 (in the infamous blues) at Rupp.
Won 89-73 in 1989 in the Dome.
