One thing I've noticed from Fran is that he spaces out so much good publicity to keep Cuse in the news.

my guess is some sort of announcement in the dome tomorrow and the appropriate social posts to follow

this is different than the gattis or white hires where the announcements and graphics get delayed for one reason or another. This is the greatest defender in dome history joining the staff and the media has already made us all aware of it

From not even being on campus since he graduated until a couple years ago to now having his jersey in the rafters and joining the staff in short order. Incredible.

A great hire!

When he played for the Colts, he would come back to Manley during the off-season and have private workouts with Coach Hicks. A lot less SM presence back then.

Very Very Important hire who ties in the years of the last sustained success of Syracuse University Football, success in the NFL, a College and Pro Football Hall of Famer and of course a wealth of football knowledge. i did have a chuckle at steve infanti saying "has remained closely connected with SU since being selected in the 1st round of the '02 Draft."

I believe you mean he has remained closesly connected to Will Hicks, but until Fran got here, he was not around thanks to the old regime.

precisely. He loves Coach Hicks, who has been holding together the alumni crew without the HC attention on it until Fran got here. Fran gets it. Love this. Getting some nice national attention from this type of "hire" too. Even if it's just an ambassador role, it's great.

I was listening to one of the 247 recruiting podcasts the other day and this exact subject was brought up in regards to Fran. Syracuse is rarely mentioned on the pod but they brought up Demetrius Samuels playing both ways last week then Rickie Collins winning the qb job this week. The podcasters were like I think this is Fran trying to keep Syracuse in the headlines in April ie. Colorado Spring game, Demetrius Samuels, Collins starting qb. They were speaking tongue in cheek but were very complimentary of Fran and the fact that he is keeping Syracuse relevant at this time of the year.
