Whoa. So this makes me think Fran's comments about players wanting to compete may have been about Carney. Otherwise why would Carney have been playing ahead of Filardi so far? Carney didn't do anything in games to cause Fran to make the change. Was this in reference to Carney's camp possibly saying they didn't want to burn his redshirt? Does anyone know for sure if that is what happened? Hope that wasn't the situation and somehow Filardi just looks that good now.

he’s still got 2 more games he could appear in.

I would suspect Carney will transfer back to somewhere in Texas. Wouldn't expect him to stay here after not getting the start in this game.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Carney may play tonight. And there's still 4 games left to play.

that's my thought as well. Likely he is out and leaving, and doesn't want to burn the year.

Alternatively, could Filardi really have beaten him out for the spot? that would be great if so.
