Hi, folks. A friend of mine owns a T-shirt store and has come up with a couple new designs for the upcoming season. He knows that I am active on this board, and what hard-core fans we have on this site, and asked me to post previews of 2 new designs he has come up with, to see how much people like them, and to get a sense of what mix of sizes he ought to print.

He is selling the T-shirts for $20 each, regardless of size, plus $2.35/shirt for shipping and handling. The shirts will be made of high quality 50/50 poly-cotton "dry blend", which I understand to mean that they are pretty shrink resistent.

He is going to run the shirts next week, so I need to tell him quantities and sizes by the end of the day on Monday. I will set up Paypal later on tonight or tomorrow to take orders. For now, post below in this thread with your quantities and sizes, so we can get an idea how many he should run. Thanks very much. I hope you like them (I do!).

I tried to set up a temporary web site to host the 2 images, but the hosting service "1and1" is down right now (probably because of all those TV ads ...). Do any of the moderators have a dummy page that they could post the 2 images to for me, so I can provide a link? Please message me if you can help. Thanks.

Looks cool Matt! I'll pass on the link to some friends that might be interested.

I like the Farewell Tour design.
I never cared for the other slogan since it's inaccurate (it ignores eons of independence).

yea... the farewell tour shirt is funny...the acc by necessity logo is pretty dumb in my opinion.

So I'm assuming the massive trademark violations all over those shirts isn't a problem for your pal?

;)

He's an official licensee of collegiate sports.

I'm sure they'll appreciate big slash though the Big East logo. ;)

I kid, I kid,

He says that he's done lots of off-color shirts in the past, much worse than that. So long as you don't cross a line into vulgar or offensive, apparently the licensing company approves pretty much everything. You just have to be willing to wait for them to get around to your request. The universities are used to doing rivalry based shirts that are much worse than this. So long as they get their 10% royalty, they don't care.

Thanks, Chris. This guy has been a licensee of the university for a long time, but usually they just give him the designs that they want him to manufacture. A mutual friend came up with the idea to go outside the box, and push the envelope with some designs - kind of like the new cartoon Otto that that guy does in the newspaper, but as a randy, woman chasing troublemaker who punks other teams' mascots. These first ones are a little tame, but he wants to dip his toe in the water, before he tries out what the other guy has in mind.

The vacation in europe looked great. I really enjoyed Rome, too.

That was just a template - I didn't actually go to Rome. (LOL) I was just looking to set up something to host the pictures temporarily, because you can't post a photo / jpg directly into a post on this site. You have to post it somewhere else on the web and then link to it.

i know, was just kidding.

Well, the way I look at it is, if we ever want to do a custom shirt and enough people seem to like an idea, like the War Otto thing, which was great, this is what it costs to do it from a professional guy on good quality shirts (or other merchandise). I will float ideas from time to time as he comes up with new ones. Let me know if any catch your eye. He'll probably set up a web site soon. He's been doing official SU and Big East gear for several years, but he wants to branch out.
