Next up NC State...

Hope you guys are right!! The RBC seemed on tv in the Indiana game like a bandbox with everyone sitting right on the court and a sea of red and very vocal fans.

RBC arena will NOT be a hostile environment. SU fans may outnumber NCSU fans.

The game has been sold out. And, although there will be many SU fans there (myself included) by no means will SU fans outnumber State fans.

I agree Orange... I don't think this will be a Seton Hall situation...

We will need to play our best overall game to get a W there. This team has talent and decent size. Our half court offense is bad, not just mediocre. If any team can take care of the ball against our defensive pressure (which admittedly is tough) and limit our transition points, we will struggle to score and have lots of empty possessions. When we don't score, its harder to set up the zone. Hope we shoot it better from the perimeter or we will have real problems.

Boeheim does not pressure vs decent competition. 40 minutes of birdwatching. book it.
I guess you haven't been watching our zone the last few games. If that's the case, I'll fill you in on what happened: Dion had 6 steals last night...all while "birdwatching" at the top of the zone.

I think even with a good contingent of SU fans, it will still be a bit hostile. Remember, Boeheim's infamous Greensboro quote still has a lot people down here feeling not so warm and cozy about JB. Certainly, the recent BF debacle won't help the matter either, even though that has lost a lot of its media luster...

If SU is #1 here's their chance to prove it (Indiana won there) Today I have NCState by 5

Yes, and why there will still be students present.

Yeah, that was my concern. It's not like Syracuse, where every high-profile game played during a school break is quiet with large swaths of empty seats.

Should be a good test for Rak & Melo. Are they ready for NC State's forwards?

I believe they were up like 10 on Stanford either around half time or into 2nd half before blowing the lead...fwiw

I think this is the key (I know, duh). Can their guards handle our zone pressure or will they be worn down by our constant barrage (four strong) of our excellent guards in their shorts. If our guards play aggressive defense like last night for 40 minutes AND if we lock down on Wood I believe we will win. They are athletic up front, but we can match them up front for the most part.

Either you didn't read carefully, or you consider George Washington "decent competition".

Blue, who have you been most impressed with on defense? On Offense? Who would you cut out of the rotation, if you were going to trim it down?

The zone was flat for approximately 1.5 games this year, both of which we won. The zone has been very active the last few games, forcing turnovers and giving fits to opposing teams.

I watched our press stink up the joint vs. GW. We are going to live and die by the zone this year. You might want to follow a team like Mizzou if you don't want to watch a dynamic zone defense this season.

The game is officially sold out, too
